BANGKOK, July 17 (Xinhua) -- Two Thai soldiers died on Friday in a bomb blast by suspected insurgents in a southernmost province of Yala, local police said.
Early in the afternoon, the bomb, which was hidden in a car parking 50 meters away from a police station of Yaha district of Yala, exploded and destroyed the car, Thai language news agency INN reported.
Apart from the two victims, four other soldiers and a civilian girl were injured and were already sent to a hospital of Yaha.
Thailand's deep South comprises mainly the three southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani, Narathiwas, and some parts of Songkla province.
Over 3,500 people have been killed by the daily violence attack by the suspected separatists since January 2004.
