AirAsiaX doesn't get the start it was hoping for.

Poor AirAisa copped a flogging on all the Perth TV news channels tonight.

Yesterday was the introduction of Perth - KL flights but the news reported the flight was hugely delayed then after finally leaving had to turn back to Perth with "technical problems" (reportedly the landing gear) - they didn't say if the flight was fully cancelled or if it eventually got going.

Then to make matters worse todays flight was also delayed... Not the ideal start they would have been after

We were going to fly with them next year but Jetstar is also about to start Perth - Singapore flights and had some unbelievable opening specials.
A family of five (one infant) we fly Jetstar Perth to Singapore then AirAsia to Bangkok - all up 1K... AWESOME I reckon.

    There's nothing awesome about Jetstar.

It's cheaper on some routes but on the BKK-MEL route I use frequently it represents no great savings over even Thai, who are the only other carrier to fly direct.
If you bargain hunt you'll only pay a couple of thousand baht more on Thai and it is infinitely more preferable.

^yer I've never been keen on then either - mainly because they are just Qanta$ pretend bubget answer. Everytime we have flown its always been with Tiger and I certainly have never had anything to complain out with them

Perth people sure are in a real good position at the moment with a choice of 3 now but like I say their opening special was to good to pass up.

$1000 aus for 4 adults + infant from Perth to bangkok with Thai + a few extra 1000 baht, I think not. That is an awesome price.

Very disappointing start for AA but after my recent experience with them it doesn't surprise me.

I'm flying Air AsiaX Perth to KL tonight. Payed taxes only as scored a free flight, cost piss all $ 274 return, opening special.

Just booked another flight for 09, same deal taxes only free flight, Perth to KL return $ 310.

Ive flown Air Asia a shit load of times to many destinations in Asia, had a couple of delayed flights but at the end of the day who gives a flying fok as you are paying piss all for the fare, shit happens sometimes.

Don't know why some of you guys cry about it, harden the fok up will ya.

I saw in Thai newspaper the other day that if your Air Asia flight is delayed by more then 2 hours you will get a 1800 baht voucher from them.

I went CM to China on AA and was 12 kilos over-weight. For what they charged plus another 600 Baht I could have bought a seat for my 12k overage and enjoyed "his" meal. NEVER will I use them again, petty chicken shits.

200B per kilo is what can happen. Stupid Chinese-thinking way of doing business. AA: You got me that time but never again, not to mention I will bad-mouth your company for the rest of my life.

You get 15 kg only, its advertised and not hidden. You want to go heavier use your brain and pay up front.

Not very fokin hard is it.

Not hard at all. Giving a guy a break isn't so hard either, that is if you want to stay in business. Do you get charged extra when your baby rides in a taxi with you? The relative weight ratio of 12 kilos, shit, 100 Kilos, on a passenger aircraft is about the same as that weight of the wetness in the baby's diaper is to a taxi. Would they charge you for the piss too? Air Asia would.

AA is having a good month achieving a remarkable 90% for on time departures??
Don't forget the extra baggage charge for sporting goods, Xpress boarding fees - all to be only slightly ahead of the stampede.
I use em' a lot for short hauls, they are OK, but if you don't get a seat row one or an exit row the average 6ft guy will be in for a very uncomfortable ride.

We have twenty kilo each flying Thai International, so what you're saying is that if I want to use AA domestic for onward journey in Thailand, we have to off load five kilos each or do we have a choice and trudge all the way over to DM to catch the Thai domestic airline. Or are there any other domestic Aircraft at Suvanabunm?????

I was 12 Kilos and I had to pay 2,400. It was an international flight where a lot of airlines give you 40Ks. Most airlines I have used in the past have let overages slide. Customers won't forget the favour.

IMO any airline that installs an extra 10 rows of seats, leg-room fit for a midget, and wants to charge extra over 15 Kilos for international, charging passengers for a bag of peanuts, would have to fly me there real cheap.

That frugality would have me wondering how safe the flight really is .. does the pilot have a valid license? Are we safe in an aircraft whose administration's main purpose of existence is to gouge passengers right down to the peanuts?

Sometimes you just have to wonder: What am I saving? What are the risks involved compared to the savings involved? Oh, was that flight that stumbled into Phuket a budget number? Do the families of the lost ones ever think about the high cost of qualified pilots and aircraft maintenance, and how there is such a thing as false economy?

Sorry for the rant, my best mate died in a budget flight that exploded in the air near Mexico City. The company gave his family, a wife and three daughters, 0 pesos and never even notified the family of thier loss.

Interesting to read the comments on airlines - have a few of my own I'd like to add. I live on the "Gold Coast" ( North eastern Australia) - Tiger started to fly from Coolangatta Airport about 9mths ago ( ?) with disastrous results - constant delays - booking stuff ups, dreadful communication problems. ( Seems like Tiger execs think Public Relations means a "F....k in the Park" ?
Air Asia don't fly from here but have flown with them many times BKK/ Udon etc.and have no complaints except that the weighing machines in BKK are different to those in Udon , same bag same contents -80 bht extra at Udon.
Jetstar one and only experience BKK/ Sydney very good.
I have flown with Thai International on 4 occasions Brisbane/BKK , BKK/ Sydney BkK/Brisbane and they are my carrier of choice BUT GET THIS : last trip I decided to get off in Sydney instead of Brisbane ( plane goes BKK/Sydney / Brisbane.)
No change to flight times or date and 5 days notice. No way , not possible , luggage ticketed to Brisbane etc? argued over 4 days eventually after faxes to Sydney from BKK Thai Internat agreed to let me off in Sydney for an extra 12000 ( yes 12000 not 1200) BHT ? How can you explain this - sounds like Thai logic to me ?
Malaysian Airlines 6 hrs late but very courteous and friendly - BUT!!!- : I weigh 110 kilos ( lots bigger than me ) - tiny seats , very uncomfortable and had to get a safety belt extension before the seat belt could be done up - never happened in any other airline, and I fly regularly.
