This is strange writing for the Guardian, the writer does seem to have a great deal of anger about the whole issue. He also comes across as a right-wing zealot or a left-wing nutter, shifting his view from paragraph to paragraph.

I agree with the main thrust of the argument, that the risks have been over stated, however there is still a risk of heterosexual contraction of HIV through heterosexual activity. The article does make a good point about high risk groups - prostitution is on the list of high risk activity, which many people forget when the arrive at Swampy airport. I am as guilty as some for having unprotected sex in the past, articles like these serve as a reminder to practice safe sex.

The London Times wrote a piece in the mid 90s debunking the male hetrosexual AIDS myth. They cited, if I remember correctly, only 13 cases of male AIDS in the UK, that could not be put down to blood transfusion, intravenous drug use, or buggery. Two or three of them were thought to have been infected through dental surgery preformed by a gay HIV dentist and they even went as far to imply the other cases were actually closet fags who were lying about their lifestyle.

They also went on to show how the funding being given to AIDS was dwarfing that for cancer and heart disease, the 2 main killers. There was quite a backlash to that article, with that twat Peter Thatchell mincing around all over the place.

A gay doctor on sabatical in Malaysia, on hearing that I'd been having a bit of unprotected fun with a lady in Thailand, fuking ruined the rest of my trip by proclaiming that I was 99% now HIV+. On getting back to the UK, it took about 2 months of sleepless nights before I had the courage to go for the test. The result? The doctor laughed and told me to get the fuk out of his surgery after he'd determined that I was a red-blooded hetro with no deviant activities. He told me that if I insisted on a test then it would be on my medical record and that it would prejudice any life insurance that I might apply for in the future.

a bit of research into the risk of heterosexually transmitted aids, even with an infected partner shows the risks are astronomically low.

Professor Bauer, along with hundreds of other scientists, are convinced so-called 'AIDS' cannot be sexually transmitted. In order to understand their arguments you must take the time to educate yourself beyond (corporate controlled) mass media. His interview above isn't a bad place to start. It's often difficult to hear this 'other side' because there are so many tens of billions at dollars at stake in keeping people convinced there is a virus that is destroying the immune systems of these patients. Shout 'virus!' in a crowded theater and watch the money flow!

Wasn't this always obvious? This was PC run wild. The PC crowd could not admit this was a homosexual problem, after all everything needs to be "fair" and "equal." But, the natural world is not PC. This whole AIDS thing was a complete distortion, but it made a lot of medical researchers rich and therefore those who knew the most had the most to gain from the distortions.

Remember back in the old days, Trink pointed this out in his column and was then lambasted by the PC crowd.

I have said it often, fifty years from now our grandchildren will be laughing their asses off at us over this issue, much as we laugh at non-scientific beliefs of the past, like the use of leeches as a medical treatment.

If one understands how research works, this distortion of the facts was obvious. However, John Q. Public does not really know how to analyze data and facts and therefore can be easily misled by “experts” who have an agenda.

nobosy is questioning that AIDS exists.

it's also unquestionable that the risk was blown waaay out of proportion and ridden by all and sundry.
there never was a pandemic and there i think the 'experts' have known there would never be from the get go.

In my whole life I have personally known 2 people (men) that have contracted HIV and both are still alive and in good health.
One was a distant family member and who is openly gay and the other a friend here who I believe contracted the virus from drug use.
Also know many people who run bars and massage parlours (and as friends) and they have never admitted that any of their girls have developed the illness.

Again the press have openly expossed people that have aids or are HIV positive (and those people are mainly celebrities) and to sell newspapers and commercial airtime.

Have also been told by a leading specialist in Thailand that to transfer the HIV virus by normal hetrosexual sex is almost impossible from female to male (in fact in her words highly unlikely). Male to female is more a possibility and especially when anal sex is praticed.

When I was a teenager, bum fcuking was never a consideration and IMO the apparent acceptance of this act nowadays (and as part of the sexual experience) explains the continued growth of infected people.

Prostitutes are only at risk if they do drugs. If prostitutes could give men a virus that causes AIDS then AIDS would be a HUGE problem in heterosexual people because men would get it from the prostitutes and then transmit it to their wives. But after 25 years there is no epidemic! 25 years!! No epidemic!

The only homosexuals who get problems with their immune systems are the ones that to drugs. Homosexuals continue to engage in lots and lots of sex, just as straight guys in Thailand, for example, engage in lots and lots of sex. None of them have a problem with their immune systems (unless they do drugs or don’t protect from, or treat, other STDs.) This was known in the early 1980’s when every leading AIDS researcher said “drugs are destroying their immune systems”. But you can’t get any money for studying how drugs destroy immune systems so most of the researchers jumped on the virus bandwagon (it pays the mortgage!) .

Money, money, money! All the AIDS ‘support groups’ (tens of thousands of them in the U.S. alone), all the pharmaceutical companies, all the universities getting AIDS money, all the private research groups. All sucking on the AIDS tit. Billions and billions and billions of dollars.

"Where's the virus?!" HIV is rarely found in people dying of AIDS. Only antibodies--the 'good soldiers' of the immune system--are found. Yes, there is something that is causing the Immune Systems of these people to Acquire a Deficiency (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome--AIDS) but it is not a mysterious virus that violates known laws of virology.

There is a reason that after 25 years of AIDS hysteria they still don't have a vaccine! Does anybody remember Nixon's War on Cancer in the 1970's where billions of tax dollars were spent looking for viruses that cause cancer? That was a golden cow for the virus hunters that they were able to milk for all it was worth. Those same virus hunters, after failing to make any progress with viruses and cancer, latched on to "the virus that causes AIDS". After the viral cause of AIDS is finally laid to rest, the virus hunters will find yet another bogus bug to scare the money out of a gullible public.

"There is no proof that HIV causes AIDS. In fact, all the epidemiological and microbiological evidence taken together conclusively demonstrates that HIV cannot cause AIDS or any other illness. Alive & Well

Clicking on above "Alive & Well" will bring up an excellent source that shows, among other things, how terribly inaccurate and harmful the so-called "HIV test" is and all the lives that are being destroyed when people get a so-called 'positive' result on this test. People who are not sick in any way! ---who then, now living in great fear and stress, rush out to take toxic chemotherapy drugs (that do indeed make them very, very sick).

My wifes best friend died from HIV about 7 years ago. She wasnt a bargirl or local slut just unlucky. There are quite a few working girls who carry the virus in BKK and Pattaya of that I'm sure. My wife knows at least 3 HIV positive girls from our area who have gone to work in the bars because no-one here wil employ them. The fact is there is a risk and with places like Pattaya and Bangkok in my view a higher risk.
Don't fool yourself that you're immune or the stats are in you favour, Ive seen one beautiful young girl die from it and I really dont want to see another.
Most of my mates who have stayed here have at one time or another caught a dose of something nasty thank fok it wasnt the big one.

I have a suggestion for all you "HIV myth" guys.

How about this:

First, throw away yr condoms. Then, hang around yr local pole-dancing emporium and continue yr notmal nightly activities for about a year. Then come back and get a test. If you still think the risk is overstated (and obviously HIV neg.), fine. I'll believe you. Until then its bareback with the wife, and condoms whenever I get some R+R (and she ain't looking).

Can't recall the name or exact details now but the very same 'challenge' that some noted proponent of the HIV-as-corporate-conspiracy turned down. Apparently his convictions weren't strong enough that he was willing to risk it.
