At 3:19 AM, the Sawang Boriboon Rescue Center in Pattaya received a report of a fight resulting in injuries. Rescue personnel and patrol officers were dispatched to the scene.
The incident occurred inside an unidentified beer bar in Soi 6 off of Pattaya Second Road. Upon arrival, journalists and police were informed by witnesses that a foreign make suspect involved in the fight had fled into the nearby closed for the evening Runway Market, approximately 100 meters from the scene. Police and rescue workers followed and found a heavily intoxicated foreign man, who claimed to be a 29-year-old Irish national but had no identification documents.
He was incoherent and had visible injuries, including a bleeding wound on his forehead between his eyebrows and another at the base of his ear. Rescue workers attempted first aid, but the man, still heavily intoxicated, initially resisted and was uncooperative. When Pattaya Police patrol officers arrived, he calmed down and allowed treatment.
The foreign man and his wife stated to police that they had been drinking in the bar when they were allegedly attacked by a group of women and transgender individuals, causing his injuries. He then fled to the market. He claimed he did nothing to cause the attack.
Later, Ms. Nan, a 31-year-old bar employee, came forward with a radically different version of events, claiming the foreign man had initiated the violence, injuring two bar staff members who were since taken to a local hospital. Ms. Nan stated that the man and his girlfriend were drinking in the bar and became disruptive.
When she tried to intervene, the couple allegedly pushed and assaulted bar staff, including punching a female employee. The staff fought back, leading to a brawl. Ms. Nan admitted to throwing a glass at the man after he allegedly punched her in the left eye, escalating the chaos. The foreign man and his girlfriend then fled the bar.
Police advised both parties to file complaints at Pattaya City Police Station. The intoxicated foreign man was taken into custody and brought to the police station for further questioning.
The investigating officer assigned a detective team to review CCTV footage from the bar to determine the exact sequence of events and which story from those involved was accurate. Authorities promised to ensure fairness for both the foreign man and the injured Thai bar workers, with legal action to be taken against those found at fault.
