A Japanese man was found dead by hanging in a wooded area near a Koh Larn viewpoint.
At 4:30 PM on March 6th, Pattaya police received a report of a foreign man found dead by hanging in a wooded area near the viewpoint behind Khao Phra Yai on Koh Larn. Authorities coordinated with forensic teams and Sawang Boriboon Rescue Foundation before rushing to the scene.
There, police found the man’s body hanging from a tree in a forested area near the viewpoint. About 10 meters away, personal belongings were discovered, including a black hoodie, a camouflage hiking hat, a shoulder bag, a pack of cigarettes, a lighter, a photo of an elderly woman, two packs of Viagra, and Bluetooth earphones.
A passport found on a stone bench in a nearby pavilion identified the deceased as Mr. Kazuhiro, a 48-year-old Japanese national. His full name was withheld pending notification to his embassy and family.
Security personnel told police that tourists had discovered the body. Officers secured the area and began an investigation.
The cause of death has not yet been confirmed. Authorities are reviewing nearby CCTV footage as part of the ongoing investigation. The body has been transferred to Pattaya’s Pattamakun Hospital for safekeeping while awaiting contact with the deceased’s relatives and further examination to determine the exact cause of death.
