British tourist mysteriously found dead in Thailand park with 'no injuries'

A British tourist has been found dead in a park in northern Thailand.

Dax Baker, 34, was discovered lying lifeless next to a plant box at a park near Chamni Norakan Market in Chiang Mai province on June 9 afternoon.

Cops said there were no wounds or signs of assault found on his body. A foil packet containing an unknown substance was found near his body.

Police said the Brit had been staying at a nearby apartment. His body was taken to the Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Thanongsak Janjuakwa of the Mueang Chiang Mai Police Station said: "Currently, we still cannot identify the cause of his death as we have to wait for the autopsy results from the hospital, which will take around two weeks.

"We do not know whether he was drunk or not. The doctor speculated that he had died approximately four or five hours before our arrival. We could not detect any alcohol odour from him."

Blood toxicology report takes about an hour when I do a medical. Might save the need for an autopsy...

Someone I knew many years ago nearly died when he thought he was buying one particular drug - but they provided him a different one. He did not notice and took it as he would take the one he normally used which turned out to be very very bad...

I think you could just close the investigation if there's enough ketamine in there to floor a diplodocus.

Denmark recalls popular Korean noodles over excessive spiciness: Real risk or too hot for Danes?

    Published on 12/06/2024 - 14:27•Updated 17:38

The announcement by the national food safety regulator was met with derision from fans of searing heat.

Danish authorities have halted the sale of three popular Korean noodle products, warning that they are so spicy they may land consumers in hospital.

As first reported by the Korea Times, the Danish National Food Institute has warned Danes not to consume three widely sold products produced by South Korean brand Samyang.
