Chinese Nationals Allegedly Steal Diamond Bracelet Worth 1 Million Baht

At 7:00 PM, on April 17th, 2024, Pathumwan investigative police officers and relevant agencies investigated a case of two Chinese individuals allegedly stealing a diamond bracelet “Yellow Gold” from the Van Cleef & Arpels store worth 1,040,000 baht from Siam Paragon, Pathumwan, Bangkok.

According to the police report, two Chinese nationals went shopping at the Van Cleef & Arpels store and asked for a diamond bracelet “Yellow Gold” worth 1,040,000 baht at Siam Paragon. However, the two suspects took an opportunity, when shop employees looked away, to steal the bracelet.

After that, the two suspects reportedly called a taxi at Fountain Gate, Siam Paragon, fled away, and arrived at a hotel in Phetchaburi, Bangkok, at 5:41 PM, on April 16th. Shortly after, at 5:54 PM, the two suspects called a hail-riding service and traveled to Suvarnabhumi Airport with their luggage.

At 7:11 PM, the suspects successfully passed the Suvarnabhumi immigration checkpoint and departed to China. It was reported that the suspects spent two and a half hours committing the crimes, according to the police.

Initially, Pathumwan police gathered evidence to request arrest warrants for the suspects for conspiring to commit theft crimes. They would be detained immediately if they travel to Thailand, according to the police.

That’s rather audacious. Counted on their flights leaving on time.

    Thai incompetence again.

Any ingress or egress at such a premium shop permitting personal contact with the product by the interested consumer should be controlled and dependent on an audit of the items inspected with all transactions monitored by video and two assistants.

Clearly, they distracted Somchai whose attention span is not among the most reliable on the planet.

But, more to the point, the theft occurred on the 16th but was not discovered until the 17th?

    So, it was a switcheroo?

Can pinch a million baht bracelet while looking at it in Siam Paragon, leave with it, travel to Swampy, board the plane and leave the country.

    Very good.

I can't see the CCP handing the perps back to Thailand. A shame.

^39TG, if the Thai's know their ID's the CCP will find them very easily and will come down heavy on them. They won't hand them back to Thailand but they will be charged with the same crimes that they have committed in Thailand. This is how they operate.
One should listen twice as much as one speaks
