Thread: 16-Year-Old Boy Killed, His 12-Year-Old Brother Survives Accident While Riding a Moto

A 16-year-old boy was killed while his 12-year-old brother was injured when their motorbike crashed into a trailer truck in Pattaya on Tuesday afternoon, April 2nd, 2024. The two brothers were travelling to Pattaya to visit their mom, according to the surviving boy.


The accident occurred at around 1:00 PM near the entrance of Soi Nong Ket Yai 7 in the Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Pattaya police and Sawang Boriboon rescue workers rushed to the scene following a report of the tragic accident.


There, authorities found the victim, identified only by his first name as “Po,” lying deceased under the trailer truck. The 16-year-old boy had suffered grievous injuries from being crushed by the truck. His white Honda Wave 125 motorbike lay damaged nearby. Authorities also found Po’s brother, a 12-year-old boy named “Hero,” at the scene. The boy miraculously survived the accident with slight injuries.

According to the victim’s brother, he and Po were travelling from Rayong to visit their mom in Pattaya. Po was the driver and Hero was seated on the back.


Hero alleged that at the accident scene, the involved truck cut them off while turning into an alley. Po was unable to avoid the collision and was run over by the truck. Meanwhile, Hero managed to jump off the motorcycle and only suffered minor injuries in the process. “I love my brother very much,” Hero said during the statement.

The truck driver, Mr. Jarin Petchad, 30, told police that he was turning into Soi Nong Ket Yai 7 when he collided with the motorcycle. He claimed he was unaware of the motorbike and only realized about it upon impact.


Police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to corroborate the boy’s account and decide on any potential legal charges for Mr. Jarin.

It mentioned their ages. 12 and 16 cannot legally get a license, therefore they are unlicensed. Parents need to take responsibility. Police charging them will help (the next lot, not this family). I have very little sympathy for parents like this.

It mentions the rider being the16 year old.He could have legally passed his test at 15 in Thailand.
