30 mill baht, buy one get two freedom, should suffice after a week or two.
s.a.
we all know that the thai police seek to take advantage of any situation that presents itself but if a thai policeman deems you to be speeding then he has "the right" to stop you. and woe betide those who fail to stop, especially a foreigner. thats how it is here. What is guaranteed is that Somchai’s evidence is bollox, the farang were not speeding, had not committed any other offence and were not instructed properly to stop
they were also apparently in the wrong lane, again giving the policeman another reason to stop them.
what is deemed to be a proper instruction to stop in thailand? i dont know, but when you have been waved down to stop and then chased by a policeman on a motorbike then that would seem to me to be a proper instruction to stop, and failing to do so amounts to stupidity.
and taking the gun and attacking the policeman just adds moronic insanity to the already toxic mix.
these idiots deserve a severe punishment for their actions, but i suspect that the millionaire daddies of these two entitled knobheads will make an offer that just cant be refused, bribery is only an offence when the amount offered is paltry, and ceases to be an offence once the offer is substantially increased.
one of them should also be punished for wearing black socks with black shoes. unforgiveable.
Some people will do anything for YouTube content.
These newsfeeds are highly entertaining but there never seems to be a follow through of the actual outcome.. come on newsbots Where's the follow up.. on a side note quite nice to see s landreth has taken a break from the long winded posts
I don't think the Thai police are going to quickly forgive tourists who publicly assaulted them. I'm guessing they'll be in prison for 6 months before their parent's gifts are received and they're released. Touching an authority figure, especially with video footage won't be something easily forgotten.

Visas revoked for two New Zealanders charged with attacking police officer
The immigration office in Phuket has revoked the visas of two New Zealanders, who allegedly assaulted a traffic police officer in Chalong district of Phuket and snatched his service pistol last Saturday.
The incident was captured by CCTV at the scene and a video clip was posted on social media.
Meanwhile, the Phuket provincial administration has informed the New Zealand Embassy in Bangkok about the conduct of the two suspects and has sought cooperation from consular offices of other countries by informing their citizens visiting Thailand to abide by the country’s laws.
Since last October, foreigners have been charged with offences in more than 400 cases in Phuket, resulting in the revocation of the 95 visas, including those of nationals from China, Myanmar, Russia, Australia, Morocco and the UK. Their alleged offences range from theft, working without permits, violations of narcotics laws, obstruction of police and attempted murder.
The two New Zealanders are facing multiple charges, including driving without a license, resisting arrest, assault, attempting to bribe a police officer and theft. They are due to be taken to the Phuket provincial court today to have their detention extended.
Chalong district police say they will oppose their bail applications, adding that, if the court agrees to grant them bail, they will still be booked by the immigration police after their visas have been revoked.

Is that the problem then? Such a simple fix.and has sought cooperation from consular offices of other countries by informing their citizens visiting Thailand to abide by the country’s laws.
Bit of a cheek expecting tourists to be law abiding when no one else in this country gives a flying fuck for justice, the rule of law or honesty.
They were not assaulting the cop. They were saving their lives. Somchai should be drug tested.
I don't know what this refers to, but the whole incident seems very strange. I did say to the wife that policeman Somchai had not done something very wrong to preempt the "attack" then I'd be surprised. But, I haven't watched the video and have no idea (generally in life...) - it's just a default to blame Thai police (for good reason most times).
Cycling should be banned!!!
Found this as a follow up. Won’t post the whole article of family drama but here is a snip.
(As of March 30) Hamish and Mattson “Matt” Day, 36 and 38, are in prison in Thailand facing charges of robbery, obstruction of police duty, physical attack against a policeman, driving without a licence and bribery.

Somchai attempted a spurious bust and losing his rag when the two victims failed to submit to extortion drew his weapon trying to intimidate the lads who were clearly made of sterner stuff.
Open and shut case typical of Phuket.
The police will continue to ramp it up no doubt in order to increase the resolution fee.
I'm guessing they wish theyd have just paid up.
.....During the press conference, Sinlert said the men had been ordered to stop by the officer after riding motorcycles at speed past the Chalong police station in Phuket.
He said the men did not stop, were pursued and - when they pulled up - were told they had broken traffic law. He said a request for their licences led to an offer of a bribe which was rejected and the pair then attempting to walk off.
Sinlert said this was seen as an attempt to escape, leading to the officer using his mobile phone to take photographs of the men. He said the Day brothers became angry and one of the pair wrestled the officer to the ground, during which time the officer’s gun was taken. At some stage in the struggle the pistol discharged, but no one was hurt.
That police account is only credible to a halfwit.
Apparently, those two have no evidence to counter the what the policeman has said.
