Chinese tourist killed by a pickup truck on his first day in Thailand

A Chinese tourist has been killed by a fast moving pickup truck as he was using a zebra crossing on the way back to his hotel on Bang Na Garden Road in Bang Bo district of Samut Prakan province last night.

A Thai guide said that the victim was among a group of Chinese tourists who arrived in Bangkok Friday morning and he led the group on a sight-seeing tour of Bangkok.

The victim left his hotel room last night to buy something at a convenience store just across the road from his hotel. As he was returning to his hotel, a pickup truck, travelling at high speed and with its siren blaring, failed to stop, struck the victim on the crossing and drove off.

EMTs soon arrived at the scene of the accident, administered CPR and used a defibrillator to try to save the life of the victim, but to no avail. He died at the scene.

Witnesses say the truck driver later stopped at a nearby convenience store for a while and then drove away.

Tourist police said that the pickup truck used a fake license plate.

I saw a Chinese or maybe Korean tourist hit by a motorbike whilst using a designated crossing on Sukhumvit last night. The traffic light was on green for pedestrians using the crossing and red for road traffic. The bike caught the tourist a glancing blow, she fell but got straight up. No apparent injuries. The bike just wobbled a bit but did not stop.

Monkeys still transitioning from the tree swinging era into urban dwellers.

Singapore and HK were more civilised and modern than this medieval snakepit populated by halfwits more than 50 years ago.

The chickenheads still cannot observe a basic urban pedestrian crossing protocol the rest of the fucking world adopted generations ago.

Shitty people, shitty society, shitty country.
