One other thing I wanted to mention: Security.
Despite two people being shot dead, and the PM vowing to "protect tourists", not one of the metal detectors at any of the entrances to Paragon were being used. Occasionally there was a security guard stood there nodding at everyone, but the things were beeping like mad and no-one gave a shit.
There was an increased security presence on the BTS but I suspect that's a token effort in response to the Israel/Palestine punch up, given that they did have your actual radical extremist bombers on Sukhumvit a few years back.
So apart from LV, it was absolutely business as usual.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
They were Iranian and it was down Thonglor/Ekamai way. Three in total, I think, and were carrying home made bombs. One exploded en route and when they were pursued by police and bystanders one of the three idiots threw a second bomb at them which bounced off a tree and flew back blowing him up. Very amusing all round. On reflection it was perhaps a typical day in downtown Bangkok in terms of the bizarre.

there was a lovely picture posted here of him sitting on the kerbside staring down in confusion and shock trying to comprehend what had just happened as he waggled his bleeding stumps in the air wondering why he couldn't stand up.
a more perfect example of karma would be hard to find.
Heard it go off from my classroom. No idea what it actually was though.
The death toll from last week’s shooting at Siam Paragon Mall in Bangkok rose to three on Friday when a 30-year-old Thai victim reportedly succumbed to her wounds.
The news was reported by X (formerly Twitter) user @songdoubles, who said Penpiwan Mitthampitak died at around 2am in hospital.
The post added that Penpiwan’s mother had expressed gratitude for the condolences and visits by well-wishers to her daughter’s bedside over the past 10 days.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
