But most Aussies will get mightily offended if you suggest Australia has a problem with casual and overt racism.

Lamingtons are a type of cake. They’re a bit meh to be honest: but I will deny saying that if you tell anyone.

As do most countries - but the common thread here seems to be Queensland in the 1980s and 1990s . . . always good to be current when painting with a broad brush.

    Agreed.

Hard to say if any one country has a bigger problem than another in this area.

    OK you c u n t s we get the point.

A Myanmar junta court has hit ousted civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi with five new corruption charges related to the alleged hiring and purchase of a helicopter, sources close to the case told AFP.
The Nobel laureate, 76, has been detained since the Feb 1 coup last year which triggered mass protests and a bloody crackdown on dissent with more than 1,400 civilians killed, according to a local monitoring group.
Suu Kyi is facing a raft of criminal and corruption charges -- including violating the country's official secrets laws -- and if convicted of all of them could face sentences tallying more than 100 years of prison.

About time the members of this Junta were declared war criminals. It may not change things but it will limit their travel and their ability to do business. At least I would hope it would.

It's not as simple as all that. declaring someone a war criminal requires a specific set of criteria. However reprehesible their actions, I am not sure if fits the 'war criminal'.

I think ordering your military to burn people alive would count as a "war crime".
