India says 276 citizens infected in other countries
More from India now, and the country's foreign ministry says more than 200 of its citizens have contracted Covid-19 in other countries.
This includes a group of 255 Indians who are in Iran, a spokesman told parliament.
Those infected with the coronavirus are not allowed to travel, and so will have to be treated in the countries they are currently in.
India has suspended most visas for foreigners and banned all travel from several countries including the UK, EU and Malaysia in an effort to curb the spread of the virus.
The health ministry says there are 130 active cases of Covid-19 in the country, but public health officials warn the country has tested far too few people.

Carmakers suspend production at UK plants
Theo Leggett
BBC International Business Correspondent
Toyota has announced that it is suspending production at its European plants, including its factory at Burnaston in Derbyshire and its engine facility in Deeside.
Together the two UK plants employ some 3,000 people. Staff will be put on paid leave. They are expected to stop work after the completion of the day shift today, and remain inactive until further notice, a period that is expected to last for at least the next two weeks.
BMW has announced similar steps, winding down production at its European plants, as well as at a facility in South Africa.
BMW has a total of 6,000 manufacturing staff in the UK. It operates a Mini factory near Oxford, as well as plants in Swindon and Hams Hall and makes Rolls Royce cars at Goodwood.
Both companies cited the fall in car sales due to the Covid-19 outbreak, difficulty obtaining parts due to disruption to their supply chains and a desire to protect staff and their families from the virus.
This whole thing is an OCD-patient's, totalitarian's, conspiracist's, and journalists' wet dream.
The amount of economy-wrecking irresponsible journalism that governments are pandering to is obscene.
There needs to be a lockdown on news outlets. Oil price being affected by Russian-Saudi spat already, now exacerbated.
where did loopy's post about virus' from china go ?
Schools in Australia to stay open for 'foreseeable future', Prime Minister Scott Morrison says, despite coronavirus spread fears among parents
Schools in Australia to stay open for 'foreseeable future', Scott Morrison says, despite coronavirus spread fears among parents - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
If the kids don't stay at School, they are (obviously) home.
If the Parents are forced to work (can't take time off) then most likely the GrandParents will be asked to babysit the kids.
Who are the most vulnerable in Society to the Virus? ... the Elderly.
Catch 22
The argument also is that many of the Health Care sector will be absent to look after the kids.
Asian Markets today ...

US are 'limit down' with their Futures, could get ugly overnight.
Stock futures drop, hit '''limit down''' halt, as extreme trading continues amid coronavirus crisis
All this Lockdown happening.
I hope someone has the foresight to increase maternity facilities for the end of the year.
Thing is, very few kids will die from it. Their grandparents might. Good luck with the containment measures, but we may just as a species have to build up systemic resistance as we have done with several other diseases throughout history.
If I am sounding fatalistic, it is because I am. Que sera. At some stage, we may face an existential decision- carry on with life, or see our already fragile economic and social systems collapse around us. That could be far worse than CV.
Yesterday’s Bangkok Post reported the gov is closing all bars in Greater Bangkok, initially for two weeks; couple of hours later, having said the ban would not include Pattaya and Phuket notice was sent that these were also included. The reason given is that CV appears to have affected mostly metropolitan areas and the government doesn’t want it to spread to rural areas.
Great so far, except, if anyone bothers to think through anything before dictats are issued, most of the women in this industry are from rural areas. And where will they go once they are laid off indefinitely, if not either freelance or back home?
And if back home then where back home? Many are from Buriram, and can't return as the provincial governor made a grand play of banning all arrivals. How one prevents residents from returning home, when they have nowhere else to go, is beyond me.
Meanwhile, just one person has died in Thailand from the virus, he was old and sick, zero reported cases of CV in Buriram, compared to c25k people slaughtered on Thai roads each year.
Hoping to prevent CV from reaching rural areas is one thing, though it's unlikely to be accomplished by triggering an exodus of untested working girls into those rural areas.
Not a criticism, since nobody actually knows what to do so every action could be right or wrong or both, but it helps if glorious leaders think through their decrees before stamping them through.
As a side issue, I've heard of one scammy bar boss that refused to pay his women wages for the almost 3 weeks they had worked, as they hadn’t worked to the end of the month.
^ I was told the man who died was 35. I'm sure that was the age reported in the papers. Death does seem suspicious though.
The nipper's school closed with no notice and by order at the beginning of last week, so the school owner arranged for students to attend a play centre until the school reopens. Good effort, though it didn't make much sense to me, shutting down one social collective and then moving students to another.
Anyway it all worked out, yesterday we were told the play centre is also closing, so no school or other activities for at least another 6 weeks.
Lol!
Here it is
President Donald Trump
Hatter reckons that is all racist anti-china propaganda.
Watch balder's video Hatter!
Mate when you take most of the aircraft out of the sky, most of the cars off the roads, and most of the factories out of service - demand drops.
Nothing political about that.
Putin picked a dumb fucking time to start a price war, and the Saudis picked a dumb fucking time to call his bluff.
And it is calling his bluff.
Aramco “very comfortable” with $30 oil. Saudi Aramco said that it would keep production elevated through May at least, and that the company was “very comfortable” with oil at $30 per barrel. “In a nutshell, Saudi Aramco can sustain the very low price and can sustain it for a long time,” Aramco CEO Amin Nasser said on Monday on an earnings call with investors. “For the production in May ... I doubt it would be any different from next month.”
Coronavirus took three months to get to 100,000 cases; 12 days to get to 200,000.
Italy yet to report and we are up to 8,700 cases today already (2,000+ in Spain, 1,000+ in Iran, almost 1,000 in Baldyland).
Schools in Wales and Scotland close from Friday. I expect Boris will close those in England soon.
Yesterday was a parliamentary briefing at 4pm GMT and Boris at 5pm GMT.
Monday and Tuesday’s press briefings took place at 5pm.
In general the press briefings will take place between 4pm and 6pm, according to Number 10
A number 10 spokesperson said that they would like to “see [the briefings held at] a consistent time.”
Small ray of hope concerning development of a vaccine - purported by most to take a minimum of a year...
Saw a discussion/interview with Frazier, the Chairman and CEO of Merck…
Providing a calming voice concerning the time to develop a vaccine. His opinion is it won’t take a year to develop a viable vaccine. Can’t provide a direct quote but paraphrasing his words concerning the Covid virus – he says we have a great deal of information concerning the corona viruses. Tons of research done already with corona viruses, MERs, SARs, etc. So testing is going on with all the known catalog of drugs/vaccines that are effective against the corona viruses. Testing will show which function against the Covid bug.
He, and face it, he is one of the experts, believes a vaccine will be available quicker than the quoted oft referenced and quoted "it’ll take a year to develop and test a vaccine"
Well, we will see.
For what its worth.
Schools closing in Wales and Scotland on Friday for up to 6 months.
Class sizes in England dropped again today.
Come Friday I reckon all schools will be shut.
