As DI 'arry discovered, clothed. As some of said, would an abductor do that?
How many people with tattoos inform the passport office of them?
Because there will be a cohort of British people who will blame Cambodia and the authrities and the locals et al for this. But if they could prove that something about the water vortex carried her out there, then it could be shown that it was just an ill timed swim that killed her. And not sleeping cops and bad locals.
Now we have the usual debate going on Twitter. Hoards of 20 something girls saying its safe to travel anywhere solo because they did.
There's lots of men who rent big bikes in Thailand, and ride up and down the streets pissed up with no helmet. how many of them die ? Does that make it safe because they got away with it ?
You can get away with lots of things in life. Its all just chances.
I doubt it. She elected to go swimming at 3am after a party. No-one else to blame. They can find out which way the currents would have expected to take her body by asking any local fisherman (it was fishermen that found her).
There will always be the idiots that cling to the hope that it was a rape/murder so they can spout their usual bollocks, but no fucker listens to them anyway.
The latest reports have placed her body some 100 kms distant from where she allegedly went into the sea.
In any event the body has been taken to Snooky for an autopsy and one should know the outcome today.

Amelia Bambridge: Brother confirms body is British backpacker's in emotional message
He said Ms Bambridge's family was with the authorities when they found the body floating off Koh Chhlam, an island in neighbouring Koh Kong province.
The body is being transported to a marina from the Thai border. It will take two hours to reach the mainland," Mr Narin told Reuters. He said an autopsy will be conducted when the body reached the mainland, adding that early indications suggested drowning as the cause of death.
Were you hoping for something a little more grisly?
Yeah, would like to see a link to reports suggesting she was found 100km away.
^^Well, because I agree with you.
It's not because people are somehow 'afraid to say it' that people don't say 'well, she was asking for it' when a female dies at the hands of some utter ****s when travelling (not what it seems has happened here).
It's because they're not arseholes.
^ Not me. But so far it's just gossip.
Well to be honest walking alone home in the dark at 3am in a third world country is not something I'd recommend to any young female caucasian backpacker, it's just common sense. It's every predatory third world chimps dream to come across that. It doesn't mean it would happen every time but it's simply common sense to avoid the risk.
In this case, it seems to be a pure accident, and the only thing is that had she been with someone, they might have been able to do something about it or at least raise the alarm.
Edit,,, sorry Harry, you beat me to it.
^^^ So do I! I knew my job would come in useful one day.
1 knot = 1.852 km/hr
1.852 x 168 (hours in a week) = 311km
A 1 kt current is strong, but a current one third of that could theoretically travel 100 km in a week.
The distance away the body was found is variously reported in the press at 32 miles and 62 miles - my guess a careless typo that was re-reported. (and 62 miles is 100km)
Coastal currents tend to be oscillatory, ie back and forth with the tide, but even so, what at first appears to be a huge distance is easily achievable with time.
Third World countries are definitely dangerous for a girl to be walking home alone after midnight, but there are plenty of incidents in developed countries too.

Are you totally stupid? If you are going to extrapolate a thesis from a comparison with data from another country citing indigenous victims then you must apply the same parameter in referencing data from the country with which you are making the comparison.
If you were to do this with reference to Cambodia and, say, Thailand then I think you will agree that not only are they dangerous but that the rape and murder rates suggest the offences are a fucking rite of passage.
