BANGKOK, 22nd November 2018 (NNT) - A group of soldiers and local government officers have built a public park for residents of Ban Krua Nua Community, Ratchathewi district, under a community service program to improve their lives.

The construction of the park was supported by the 1st Army Area, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and Nong Nooch Tropical Garden. The objective was to provide a green space for residents of Ban Krua Nua Community which consists mostly of low-income people.

Residents have been urged to spend more time here and exercise in order to have a healthier lifestyle. One of the residents, Mrs. Kanda Suksomboon , said today the park site was once used by the community as a dump site, adding that it created pollution and could easily have caused fire-related accidents.

She felt grateful to every organization involved in the new park construction. It will be a place for Ban Krua Nua residents to relax and hold important events.
