BANGKOK, 5th October 2018 (NNT) - The Meteorological Department expects heavy rainfall in Bangkok and the southern region on October 5th, while temperatures have begun to drop in the northern and northeastern regions.
Residents of the southern region have been warned of flash flooding and mudslides, while those in the North, Northeast, Central, and East of Thailand will experience further rainfall. Thunderstorms are expected in 40% of the Bangkok Metropolitan Area.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Kong-Rey is likely to move into southern Japan and the Korean Peninsula during October 5th-7th. Those traveling to the area are encouraged to follow weather forecasts.
Temperatures in the mountains have begun to drop. Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai province yesterday measured a low of 3 degrees Celsius and a high of 15 degrees, while the Kew Mae Pan nature trail measured a low of 12 and a high of 18 degrees at the national park office. On October 4th, almost a thousand visitors arrived in the highlands to experience the cool weather.
