SONGKHLA, 16th April 2018 (NNT) - Fishers in Songkhla province have opted to keep fishing today, before observing a storm warning.

The Southern Meteorological Center (East Coast) has announced that a high pressure system from China, now spreading over the Northeast of Thailand, will lead to heavy rain and high winds in the Gulf of Thailand from April 17th - 20th.

Waves in the Gulf are currently two meters high. Vessels in the area have been advised to proceed with caution.

So far, the coastline at Songkhla has been enjoying favorable weather conditions. Fishing boats in Ko Taeo subdistrict have continued operations for a final day, before suspending activities ahead of the expected storm.
