Officials of the Department of Special Investigation today began the process to impound 29 land plots worth about 42 million baht in Pathum Thani province belonging to an alleged loan shark and his associates.
DSI deputy director-general Pol Lt-Col Suriya Singhakamol and his inquiry officers as well as military personnel went to Thanyaburi branch office of Pathum Thani provincial land office to follow up the confiscation of the land plots belonging to Mr Wichan Pan-ngarm, a wanted loan shark.
Mr Sanya Kongsombat, Pathum Thani land official, disclosed that Wichai occupies 29 land plots mostly in Rattanakosin 200 Years housing estate in Thanyaburi district.
Accompanied by the land official, the DSI officials and military personnel then went to the housing estate to put up signs on Wichai’s land plots declaring that the plots are now impounded .
Pol Lt-Col Suriya said DSI officials were investigating whether Wichai owns more land elsewhere besides Pathum Thani.
