If you're really interested, I can send an e-mail and find out. Probably.

^ - don't worry, no luck here and I can send one myself. Lazy on my part I suppose.
Ekamai is the temple of choice round that way, quite plush for funerals.
Who inherits the thriving business...?
I was about to try and jump from a 10th floor roof in Swiss Cottage on to my mates balcony on the ninth floor as we were locked out and had to get to the stash pronto.
I was on a double dipped purple ohm and the traces of some welsh psilocybin mushrooms at the time and motherfucker I had the abilities of a ninja tree monkey.
Thankfully another mate saw that I was about to jump to my death and pushed me back off my launching point onto the flat roof.
You live and learn
:)
oh yeah, and for sure he was pushed :)
Funny how everyone chums up to a bar owner or even more so. ..a brothel owner
Yeah I was wondering about that. Why is it that so much of falang society appears to have associated & socialised with a brothel owner? Is there something about Thailand that makes it a normal thing to do here?
Not everyone.
Those whom seem to question the romantic championing of this lowlife cvnt of questionable character are quickly castigated from the same questionable Farang community...whore mongering/bar-hopping compatriots.
I might question the "good company" that some keep.
Yet, it's quite acceptable to be a pimp of Farang standing, because he's our Farang pimp....
Hmm.... Apartment was found ransacked?
My theory. Someone (disgruntled staff member?) lifted his keys while he was out drinking watching the superbowl. They then went over to his apartment to see what they could find.
While they were inside trashing the place, Darel arrived back. They saw him climbing across balcony's and decided to give him a little push.
Present company included mate?Quote:

Some nasty stuff happening on this thread at the moment.
Love the man or hate him he is dead and cannot defend himself.
i had met him once, he seemed polite.Quote:

but society is unarguably better off with one less coke addicted brothel owner and pimp and that is why it is hard to show any sympathy or show respect for the man. and a pound to penny that at some stage there were underage girls in his stable.
he has nothing to defend anyway. he was what he was and made no attempt to hide it.
what i find strange is that had all this occurred in the home towns of all the expats who seem to want to eulogise this mans existence, then they would not be falling over themselves expressing sorrow, respect and asking directions to the pimps funeral and publicising the fact that they were acquainted with the man who ran the local brothel.
there are no tears to shed for this lowlife, and by next week another falang toerag will have stepped up to the plate and be meeting and greeting the punters and johns.
the wheel keeps on turning.
So why the need to say anything? My mother taught me to shut up if I ain't got nothing nice to say, particularly of the dead.
Never like that when they croak though is it, then it's everyone falling over themselves to say how they saw him once and what a great bloke he was. Looks like he should have gotten out of the game a few years ago, working in bars is unhealthy, owning one is worse if you cannot leave it to the manager and keep away from it.
whats so special about the dead? if you thought they were a cnut whilst alive why does it all change after they die.Quote:

worried the boogie man will come and get you?
Yeah, and Soi Cowboy is still open...I'll bet you know the way...Quote:

I used to know a real brothel owner, not a Bangkok girlie bar, but a real one.... I never ever tried to cuddle up to her though..........Quote:

The documentary, which drew heavily from the account of Aroup Chatterjee, an Indian-born British writer who had worked briefly in one of Teresa’s charitable homes, listed a catalog of criticisms against her. It found fault with the conditions in the facilities of her Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata, which one journalist compared to the photographs she had seen of Nazi Germany’s Bergen-Belsen concentration camp, and Hitchens rallied against what he called the “cult of death and suffering.”
The documentary also argued that Teresa was an “ally of the status quo,” pointing to her relationships with dubious figures all around the world, most notably Haitian dictator Jean-Claude Duvalier and scandal-hit American financier Charles Keating. “She may or may not comfort the afflicted, but she has never been known to afflict the comfortable,” Hitchens explained.
“Hell’s Angel” sparked an international debate, and Hitchens soon followed it up with a pamphlet, unfortunately titled “The Missionary Position,” which repeated and expanded upon his criticisms. As Bruno Maddox put it in a review for the New York Times, Hitchens concluded that Mother Teresa was “less interested in helping the poor than in using them as an indefatigable source of wretchedness on which to fuel the expansion of her fundamentalist Roman Catholic beliefs.”
Hitchens’s critiques of Mother Teresa may come across as polemical, but it’s far from the only criticism. British medical journal the Lancet published a critical account of the care in Teresa’s facilities in 1994, and an academic Canadian study from a couple of years ago found fault with “her rather dubious way of caring for the sick, her questionable political contacts, her suspicious management of the enormous sums of money she received, and her overly dogmatic views regarding, in particular, abortion, contraception, and divorce.” Multiple accounts say that Teresa’s nuns would baptize the dying and that she had a reputation for proselytizing. Chatterjee also published his own extremely critical book on Teresa in 2003.

Well, tax...I assume you'll piss on everyone's cereal, then?...
Well done, lad...
Well at least nobody said he was an icon, a hero or a genius. He was just another victim of the fantasy nightlife of Thailand, a fools paradise that turns into a nightmare for some. Beaten by his own staff should have been a final warning for him to get out.
^ Earning a living in a land within which you are always only a temporary guest from sex tourists paying to take your employees away for sex and spending it on cocaine should have triggered that thought too.
Did you know Joan of Arc, Henrie?...
The only fuk up this guy made was getting into his own gear.
The most complete bar owners do not drink, the best drug dealers do not consume and the best pimps do not shag their biatches.
Keep all the Nasty stuff book work only and Jedds a millionair.
No reports on the funeral then, many seem to have known him so somebody must have gone.
I did see a few falangs dressed in black down Ekkamai way...I take it Wat That Thong was the place you were referring to...
There was also one extremely mean looking Thai thug leaving the place with his Thai hi-so partner dressed in black...
Just clicked that it might have been for him, if the funeral was today...
Good to hear he had a decent send off, he deserved that as I hope we all do.
