Impossible!! Privy counsellors would never interfere in politics. They are dedicated near saintly folks who live only for the betterment of Thailand and it's people. See it on TV. Everyday.
    That's the other problem.
60 years of continuous societal conditioning and indoctrination.

China, Japan?
Regarding planned high speed rail to north, during previous govt, first some constitutional court judge said (who's business it is, naturally) that it is not required anyways (I think reasoning being it would be stupid to spend money on infrastructure outside Bangkok), and the next argument was that it would be far too expensive.

Now the same plans are on the table, but the estimated cost has doubled or tripled? Where is the money going?

(This is actually just my recollection of events with no references and I am sincerely sorry and apologize everyone concerned if I am wrong. But too busy to google it right now.)

    Pretty much agree.

T was savy enough to count votes and the poor were his ticket to the top.

T wants acceptance by the Thai Elites. He would sacrifice the poor to gain that. Then again, he'd go against the Elites if that were his only option to regain power.

Going to be a hard slog because the General has found that he too enjoys the perks of being the head honcho.

Err, I mean the General's sense of duty requires him to remain as the PM- until 'Happiness' has been restored to the people
