I think you should volunteer to be his 'Host Nation Support Worker' Davis. Pay him a visit, befriend him, and get all the gory details.

^Maybe take him some Soldier of Fortune magazines, some dip tobacco, be his buddy. I think not. I would, but Olongapo is too far away. He knows he can count on his Marine buddies. They won't let him down................

    Slow news day.

The gay Kraut 'fiance' is still coming for the funeral. The family is awaiting his arrival so he can pay for it.

Sucking up (no pun intended) to gay groups, The VP of the Philippines dropped by the wake today as he was in the area on other business.

Five Marines (the accused and four (I always thought there were just three...don't know who the fourth is) other Marines have been called to appear in court...not sure when).

Playing it for all it's worth, the gay dude who was with the dead gay dude and identified the Marine has been "moved into the Witness Protection Program" - as if the Philippines even has such a thing.

Look for more breaking news Monday.

I've never encountered a gay man who is interested in transsexuals or transgender, they are interested in men that look and dress male. That's sort of the entire point of being a gay man.

However, I bow to your knowledge and greater experience of these matters, Davis !

^^^Well then, the Kraut 'fiance' isn't gay? So he's, by your definition, just a normal guy who happened to be planning to marry another man, albeit one with long hair, dresses, tons of make-up and bags of gel implanted into his chest.

Sorry Ghost, I really have no idea what to call the Kraut other than gay. You're male, you have sex with a male, you're going to marry a male, what are you? A member of the Transsexual Appreciation Society?

    Neither do I.

But in American liberal arts colleges now, undergrads can elect to be referred to by a pronoun of their choice. Transgender is the next frontier to be overcome in US civil rights.

That last paragraph is according to Simon Kuiper in today's Financial Times.

It's a new world now Davis. Not our world anymore!

He will spend the rest of his days; in a military cell until convicted, then transfer to a federal prison to complete his sentence. Each minute of each day he will be under the watchful eye of top notch, highly motivated, US Marine Military Police (who are as bad-ass as you can imagine). Every minute of the remainder of his life will be dictated to him, when to eat, what to eat, when to sleep, when to shit, what to where, what to do, when to exercise, when to sit, when to stand, where to stand... He no longer has a life.

I do feel sorry for him and the circumstances he got himself into. Usually, there is guidance by senior experienced servicemen who watch and guide, steering the newbies away from trouble. Trannies are everywhere. Don't know what was missed. Open to speculation.

Alcohol, shore leave, foreign country, the "good" stories of the Filipino girls and what you can expect, young marine full of testosterone and alcohol, expecting a good romp in the hay (a war story with bragging rights), and then the uhm "surprise" he found at home base...

All is open to speculation with a statement of fact, two men lost their lives that night, one figuratively...

By definition a Homosexual likes sex with the same sex , from Greek homos "one and the same," '
beyond that homosexuals are far from unified in their perversion, some like macho looking men , many others little boys and some prefer transvestites with plucked eye brows and plastic tits .
Just a differnt kind of gay.

The use of the word transsexual or transgenger has become stupid.
what if someone thinks they are a dog are they to be called trans-species ?

First court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday. Pvt. Pemberton may or may not appear. The US Embassy has said that that is up to Pemberton's Filipino legal team.

Meanwhile, with the tranny's legal team, his lawyer says his movements are being 'shadowed' by a 'mysterious, tall foreigner' who is probably trying to gain access to prosecution witnesses. Most likely the CIA I reckon, as they have nothing else to do but try to interfere in the murder trial of a Filipino who was allegedly killed by an American. Good soap opera stuff for the mob.

    That's it - slow Sunday.

Forgot to mention. The Palace has already issued a warning to the dead guy's lawyer, who is a well-known anti-VFA advocate, that this is a murder investigation, and not a platform for his anti-VFA rantings. Good luck with that.......

I like both your posts on this page, Bowie, and look forward to seeing your take on other issues.

And the above is an interesting insight. I think there's a sense that maybe a military jail would go soft on inmates (shades of William Calley and My Lai), but perhaps thats not the case.

    ^I agree; good posts.

FYI: Calley was sentenced to life in prison at hard labor at Ft. Leavenworth. He served one day. He was then released to house arrest at his residence on Ft. Benning. He was under house arrest for over three years while appeals were pending, and was then granted a full pardon by President Nixon.

Calley had massive popular support and Nixon directed all those moves.

Don;t think this guy will have the same level of sympathy directed at him.

^I think that it was more a matter of the American public, and government, being sick and tired of the Vietnam quagmire and just wanting to put it all behind them.

This guy, if convicted, will do some very unpleasant time. Mind you, he would have to receive a sentence in excess of ten years to qualify for Leavenworth. Only enlisted personnel with over ten years to serve go to Leavenworth; those with less than ten years go to other, smaller military prisons. Leavenworth's capacity is only around 500.

Thought a marine would be used to this?
