Then again they could be innocent .

Then again it could have all kicked off after the guitar player lost face big time , after his decision to treat the whole beach to covers of classic songs was not fully appreciated.

Good idea especially with mafia daddy threatening libel suits carrying 5 year sentences.

The CSI LA admin is in California, so he has no worries. Who is he anyway, or should I say "We" ?

The Mafia daddy can threaten all he wants, it's all hot air.

Granted if the whole WWW was confined to KT he would flatten it and hang every one out to dry.

The truth is that he's as impotent as a couple of helpless murder victims to save themselves.

Nearly 400k ordinary Thai people and people from around the world have had enough of his type and police corruption.

So watch out, KT mafia daddy and his team of crackpot lawyers and bent coppers are coming to a country near you...

I'd love to see him come to the island of Jersey or Great Yarmouth, he'd soon be knocked down to size

Sharing some items from CSI LA gets you a box to enter a code, they are tracking IP and you can bet they will go after resident foreigners first, easy prey.

Country is truly sinking into a truthless Orwellian state- or has it always been like this and this has just brought it to light? Note the " threat to economy...," what priorities!! And the test will have no bearing on the case already completed )
    http://englishnews.thaipbs.or.th/nat...oh-tao-murder/

Royal Thai Police commissioner Pol Gen Somyot Phumphanmuang today warned of tough legal action for anyone who posted false information on the social network criticizing the handling of the Koh Tao murder case by the police which he said could cause rift and a threat to economy.

He said posting information which is inaccurate and false could breach Article 14 of the Computer Crime Act and is subject to five year imprisonment and 100,000 baht fine or both.
The commissioner’s legal action threat came after he brought the influential village headman of Koh Tao, Woraphan Toovichien or Phuyai Wo and his son, Varot, to a press conference Thursday morning to show their sincerity to allow the police to have DNA test on his son.

Phuyai Wo arrived in Bangkok from Koh Tao to seek justice for his son Varot after he was accused in the social network of having connection with the murders of the two British tourists David Miller and Ms Hannah Witheridge on September 15.
A post on the Internet which was widely shared suggested Varot fled the island immediately after the murder took place, and the photograph which his lawyer showed to prove he was not in Koh Tao but in a Bangkok hostel on the night of the murder was retouched.
The police investigators were also criticized for not requiring DNA test for him.

The village headman said the accusation has badly tarnished his family and damaged his business and therefore would like to bring his son to meet the police commissioner to prove himself by having the DNA test.
He insisted again his family and his son were not involved as widely accused on the social network.
Pol Gen Somyot said that the police did not collect DNA sample from Varot for test during the investigation because there was evidence that he was not in Koh Tao on the night of the murder.
But to clear all allegations, he said, Varot’s father wanted to prove his son’s innocence by willingly offer the DNA test.

Result of the test will be known tomorrow.
Pol Gen Somyot, however, made clear that the DNA test on the son would have no impact on the police case file which has been finished with all circumstantial and forensic evidence submitted to the prosecutor for indictment of the two Myanmar suspects.
He said that the police knew who posted all the false information which he said intended to discredit the Royal Thai Police as well as the government.

He said he has designated the computer crime suppression police to investigate and bring the poster to trial as the post has hurt tourism and economy.

More likely the 2 Burmese suspects will make it to Britain, where they will be treated to a queue jump for free social housing + a ton of Welfare and if these choose to work, a well paid non job .

So why does their report keep getting rejected then? They have put their findings into the courts, what, 3 times now? Each time they are told "no - still a load of rubbish. please try again".

Wonder what would happen if they UK police got back and said "well, we tested the nomsod boy's DNA against the samples taken from the body by us, and it is a 99.99999% match and a 50% match with the other sample showing that a close relative of his is the other attacker".

    Now would that affect tourism?

Yeah, my wife asked me why I was so upset about this case and I told her about those photos. The people that committed this crime were real monsters, and they are still walking around free. I have yet to see any Thai official state any outrage of what happened. It is all about sakdina here, and the spin being generated is incredible. Doing the right thing is so easy, but it will never happen in Thailand.

Er....since there have been a FEW people describing those photos as horrific, could someone please spare me from looking at them by describing (briefly) what is so abhorrent about them ? The number of blows, or what ?

I only saw a small portion of one, in which there were puncture marks on the male victim's shoulder(?) and arm, posted together with a couple of pictures of a Thai man with a suspiciously matching ring which had some kind of tooth set into it.

    http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/general/440657/first-dna-test-on-koh-tao-village-chief-son-finds-no-match

The first test result on DNA from the son of a local leader on Koh Tao shows no match with samples from the scene of the murder of two British tourists in September, with reports still to come from three other hospitals.(Photo by Pattarachai Prechapanich)

Police are now waiting on results of tests on samples taken by Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Siriraj Hospital and Ramathibodee Hospital.
The four hospitals took blood samples and mouth swabs from him on Thursday.
Police spokesman Pol Lt Gen Prawut Thawornsiri said all the test results will be made public no later than Saturday. Police were still waiting for the other three hospitals to submit their findings.

so why dont they send the 2 Burmese suspects samples to the same hospitals and clear this up ?

She was smashed in the face with a steel bladed hoe.
What do you expect it to look like?

Blows to the back of the head. Ones to the face wouldn't kill her quickly. Though I suppose some may have hit her forehead.
Perhaps I was just wondering how many blows were made ?

It was the girls injuries that were really grotesque.

This idea of an attack by an enraged person has come up before, but I'm not sure if an attacker needs to be especially enraged to mangle a head with one of those digging hoes.

They would be a really lethal weapon, and even a fairly weak blow to the head with one could do a great deal of damage. The type used in this murder is quite heavy with a sharp blade edge. We've used them to dig trenches in hard packed clay so you can imagine what they can do to human flesh and bone.... It would be roughly the same as hitting someone with the cutting edge of an axe , or a heavy pick-axe.

These things are not like the little garden weeding hoes most westerners are used to.
