Why is he carrying a dustpan?

The most striking thing about those two, to me, is that they are such tiny people. Hard to imagine they could overcome a couple of Westerners.

    Still not buying it.

They were DNA checked along with the others weeks ago. Wonder how they are suddenly implicated by DNA? 700,000 baht, half to the cops, half to the lads to sit in jail for a few weeks (private room) and back to Myanmar there after would be my best assumption. No way they did it. Look at their faces in the pictures, like its some kind of game they are profiting from.

Cops always do that at reenactments in case of a mob attack (which there have been in the past)

No way migrant workers not smoke LM complete and utter stitch up this

another informed source, meanwhile, said police on Sept 30 began paying special attention to 10 people of interest after discovering one of them was captured on a security camera at a convenience store on Sairee beach while buying a packet of L&M cigarettes.

(Misskit) Apparently, they had the element of surprise, coupled with a deadly weapon (a hoe, not the dustpan)...

Feasible I guess... it just doesn't seem likely though, why use such deadly force, if their sole aim was to merely rape the girl?, why not use a blunt object instead?

The fierce injuries to both victims, suggested great malice/rage in the attacks - hence my thoughts back to the incident in the bar - with the Thais, not some guitar strumming boys chilling nearby on the beach...

The police helmets are a nice touch. Good attempt to make these dwarves look dangerous.

I presume the dustbin takes the place of the hoe in the reenactment?

It may not be widely appreciated that a dwarf with a drop of Lao and a Yaba pill or two, equipped with a digging hoe, is extremely dangerous.

I posted way back about a neighbour of mine who was attacked by 3 (or maybe 4) Burmese construction workers....all fired up on booze and dope. They were all about five feet tall but they damned nearly killed him and they did not even have a hoe. He was an ex -plumber from Vegas and stood about 6' 4" and 220 lbs or so.

He did not mention any musical talent that they may have displayed before robbing and nearly killing him. The first blow to the head with a wooden club or garden hoe is likely to take the fight out of most people

^^I worked along the Thai/Cambodian border for a couple of years, including some time in the Khmer Rouge camps - most of the KR were tiny, vicious mass murderers - clubs being the weapon of choice.

I can well believe it. Stature is no measure when it comes to this kind of thing. Those little Burmese guys are tough and many of there are very strong. Meth can make people crazy.....so when you introduce a club, a hoe and a hot looking girl.... anything can be expected. If there were three of them against one unarmed guy with a girl, the outcome could not be good.

As the sick story line goes both laying prone in the sand giving it the best they could while unsuspecting menacing dwarf like people stand over them and beat the hell out of them with a hoe...afterwards in the performance of this act decide to drown the male, rape the female multiple times, no screams, loud noises detected although adjacent to their hotel by mere yards. Evidence of DNA is conclusive, its the Burmese workmen who suddenly for no apparent reason decide to almost decapitate two western kids having a bit of fornication in the great outdoors.

Outstanding skull fucking going on here...no mention of "motive for attack," by said Burmese workers...yet.

Nevertheless, my theory is they were hit by a gigantic wave that thrashed them about the nearby rocks and boulders. As they were thrashing about an onlooker decided the timing was perfect and decided to have a go at the female while she was in a state of undress. Whilst another onlooker also did likewise waiting in line as it were. The poor male disrobed as he was, simply drown after his head hit those rocks and boulders multiple times forcing him to succumb to the waters of the Gulf of Siam.

Nothing wrong with this version of the event as I see it. Equal to the previous 961 prognostications.

I hate to quibble, but by no stretch of the imagination can 47% be called "considerably" less than half.

    ""SUSPICIOUS"

Some rights groups have voiced concern over the lack of legal representation for the men.
"The suspects have been kept without legal representation. We still don't have lawyers observing the process directly," said Pornpen Khongkachonkiet, a human rights activist.
"So we are suspicious about the judicial process in terms of these alleged confessions."
Migrant workers, particularly those from Myanmar, are often used as scapegoats for crimes in Thailand. The high-profile rape and murder of 23-year-old Welsh backpacker Kirsty Jones in 2000 was blamed on an ethnic Karen guide from neighbouring Myanmar who was beaten by police in an attempt to coerce a confession.

Its ok - our resident fluffy thaier than thai posters here believe this load of cobbled together rubbish so it must be true.

we want to clear this case up as soon as possible so that our tourism industry can bounce back,"
Its all they care about - money in their pocket. It is mentioned in every press release.

In this sort of case we usually do not take risks and have never thought of bringing in a scapegoat because this is a case with interest worldwide,"
And here the chief copper admits that they use scapegoats routinely. When do we start to believe proven liars?

I still want to see the AC bar owner and his son, and the brother, the Island chief, DNA tested. No need to refuse any longer if culprits are caught. GIVE YOUR DNA. I will not believe these 3 are the killers until this is done.

Well, if he said to bring closure and justice to the victims and families he would be lying wouldn't he.
    And Thai's don't lie.

    ^ I wholeheartedly agree, Dave.

No remorse for them, just concern of loss of revenue - and face... never mind, the 'loss of face' the girl suffered ey? *she's just a Farang, not Khun Thai.

I can see why some posters use disdain towards (some) of the Thais. I don't necessarily agree with them 100%, but I can understand it (particularly in this case).

Remember the phone found on the beach that did have, and then didn't have a blonde hair on it, that was seen being held by a copper with it in a plastic evidence bag? Well apparently it was later found behind the shack of the myanmar three.

This was whilst they were spending 7 days in a "secret secure location for intense questioning".

these boys are being done up like a kipper.
