Walking hand in hand, this haunting picture shows two British tourists shortly before they were bludgeoned to death on a Thai island.
Hannah Witheridge, 23, from Norfolk, and David Miller, 24, from Jersey in the Channel Islands, were found with horrific head injuries after attending a beach party on the idyllic island of Koh Tao.
Police have released CCTV images from the area, one of which shows what police said were the two victims walking together towards the beach before they were ambushed.
The emergence of the picture will bring further anguish to the pair's family and friends who are coming to terms with their violent deaths.
Mr Miller's girlfriend, Jessy Howorth, today described him as 'my best friend and the love of my life'.
She added: 'We were meant to have so much more time together, but I'll continue loving you everyday forever.'
Police said a man pictured in a later image, believed to be an Asian migrant worker, was considered a prime suspect after he was seen prowling near the murder scene.
