Norwegian Real Estate Agent caught-up in shooting in South Pattaya

    19th May 2012

In the early hours of Saturday shots were fired at a luxury SUV driven by a Norwegian resident of Pattaya.

Police made their way to the Sukhumvit Road in South Pattaya close to Big C and met Mr. Morten Karres aged 40.

Five bullet holes were found along the passenger side of his White Toyota Fortuna and the passenger, Mr. Karres’s girlfriend, Khun Kanitar aged 33 sustained a gun shot wound to her left arm.

The couple explained they were on their way home after spending the night at a restaurant located at the Northern end of Pattaya Third Road.

A Black Toyota Vigo came up beside them and someone inside the vehicle shot in the direction of Mr. Karres’s vehicle and then drove off in the direction of East Pattaya.

The pair work in the Real Estate industry and reside in the Bang Sarae area, just outside of Pattaya.

A Court case is currently ongoing with another Real Estate company and Police suspect the shooting relates to that dispute although they cannot be sure for now.

    The investigation continues.

Haha correct... but in Thailand it's "luxulee" maak. You're a bit of a gangster if you drive a black Fortuner.

    Sigh...

Yes, usually some army or police tosser with a Bangkok Gunclub sticker in the rear, and you have a fair idea that they are carrying guns onboard!

I testdrove a Hi-Rider Ford Ranger a couple of days ago, my normal car is a little Honda City, so it was payback time, and I think the salesguy got a bit of a shock as I went out of my way to intimidate and block off every minivan, taxi and Fortuner in sight (with a 100% record, I was very very impressed by the intimidation factor of the big Ford pick-up... ).

I have made the occassional Fortuner driver rant... They are the mostest kuntiest kuntz on the road, which is not an easy feat considering the challenge from: Tata drivers, taxi drivers, minivan drivers, songtaeo drivers, little green piece of shite drivers, motorbike taxis, kids on motorbikes, entire families on motorbikes, 3 wheeled things from the countryside, Benz drivers and the rest...

That's why we have a Pajero- it's like Apple to the Fortuner's Microsoft, but in this case Apple isn't evil.

I found that I can do all of these things, plus break into and up the odd police convoy with a 15 year old toyota.... though I will admit I don't drive with the intention of taking up every opitunity tone a c*nt. Congrats on a nice bit of payback

When the police flag you over - just wave and drive by. As long as there isn't a bottleneck stop by the police just drive around them. Let me ask everyone this - have you EVER seen the Thai police chase someone down the highway?
