So far we have Israeli and American reports, along with Chalerm..., of Hesbollah (Iran backed...) 'terrorists'.

Very convenient, just before the US invades Iran.

I know no more about this than anybody else, but I do know how the US and Israel acted before the Iraq invasion; lots of false alerts, proven blatant lies and fear mongering.

That doesn't mean that this wasn't a real threat, it just means that folks should be aware of the 'games' that all sides play...

Britons Warned Of Thailand Terror Threat

Popular tourist areas, such as Bangkok's Khao San Road, have been mentioned as possible targets

    2:04pm UK, Friday January 13, 2012

British tourists travelling to Thailand have been warned of a high terrorist threat level and urged to exercise caution.

The warning was issued by the Foreign Office came as Thai police questioned a Lebanese man with suspected of having links to Hezbollah.

Thailand's deputy prime minister, Chalerm Yubamrung, said Thai authorities received a tip-off before New Year of a planned attack, which was said to target Israelis.

"At first we were told the Palestinians were behind it but it turned out to be the Hezbollah," AP quoted him as saying.

Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran and Syria, has ministers in Lebanon's untiy government but also maintains a strong military force independent of the national army.

The group fought a two-month war with Israeli in 2006 and is on the official US blacklist of foreign terrorist organisations.

Thai authorities had been "following two Lebanese men and called in one of them ... for questioning," Chalerm said.

"Technically the two men have not committed any crimes under the Thai law, so we could only use the immigration law to keep this one suspect in custody."

Earlier, the US embassy had warned of a possible attack by "foreign terrorists" and told its citizens to be careful in areas of Bangkok frequented by tourists.

However, Chalerm said he was "confident" the danger had passed.

"No terrorist attacks will be allowed to take place. If they have disagreement, go fight somewhere else," he said.

Thai defense minister Yuthasak Sasiprapa said preliminary intelligence suggested the alleged plot was planned to take place between January 13 and 15, with synagogues and the Israeli embassy possible targets.

Tourist areas such as Bangkok's popular Khao San Road were also mentioned as potentially vulnerable.

He suggested that the planned attack may have been related to Iran's increasing strained relationship with the US over sanction imposed over the Islamic Republic's nuclear programme.

In 1994, the Israeli Embassy in Bangkok was targeted for attack but the plot failed after the driver of the explosives-laden truck fled following a minor traffic accident.

As opposed to countries allowing terrorist attacks to take place? Never heard of that before. Terrorists aren't known for asking permission.

I'm sure people inclined to cause murder and mayhem will listen to Chalerm....and go somewhere else...

Just about everything in Thailand looks a bit suspicious to me. Some of the fruits look extremely suspicious. I suspose that I could keep an open line to one of the Suspician Police and report by the minute.

Hezbollah planting bombs against Israelis in Bangkok??? I don't think so. Unless they can wheel some very convincing proof, any sane person would regard this as utter bollocks.

Anger as Iran nuclear expert buried

    Friday, 13 January 2012

Iranian nuclear expert Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan died in a Tehran bomb blast (AP)

Thousands of mourners have chanted "Death to Israel" and "Death to America" as an Iranian nuclear expert killed in a bomb blast was buried.Iran accuses the two nations of killing the expert as part of a secret operation to stop its nuclear programme.
The assassination of Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan has raised calls in Iran for retaliation against the US and Israel, and an independent news website said Iran is preparing a covert counter-offensive against the West.
Roshan, a director of the Natanz uranium enrichment facility in central Iran, was killed in a daylight assassination when two attackers on a motorcycle attached a magnetic bomb to his car in Tehran. The killing bore a strong resemblance to earlier killings of scientists working on the Iranian nuclear programme.
State TV showed thousands of people carrying Roshan's coffin through central Tehran before it was taken to a north cemetery for burial. As it marched, the crowd chanted "death to terrorists".

Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has the final say on all state matters, called Roshan's killing a "cowardly assassination" and accused the US and Israel of being behind the attack.
He vowed on Thursday that the perpetrators and those who ordered the attack would be punished.
US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has denied any American role in the attack.
Israeli officials, in contrast, have hinted at covert campaigns against Iran without directly admitting involvement.
The independent news website, irannuc.ir, quoted an unidentified security official as saying Iran is preparing a covert counter-offensive against the West in retaliation. It suggested the retaliation could include assassinations abroad.

No time for that. There is pimping, extortion, drug dealing, human trafficking for them to investigate....strike investigate...for them to line their pockets with.

Iran doesn't have the depth of resources to go about that business for a 'perceived political gain'.
what depth of resources do you need to plant a bomb under a car?

a couple of army goons acting under orders, who were probably shot soon after.

its not exactly rocket science, well it is but you know what i mean.

The resources to train and educate a nuclear specialist of international standard high caliber. And probably to do so yesterday to run the current nuclear program today.

That sort of "shoot in your own foot", where you kill your best man yourself, only works in the West, where one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

The representitives of these two terrorist states are the only terrorist's that give me cause for concern. Maybe a couple of the Thai fruits as well, I don't know.

I just saw this and thought that if there was any doubt about my above ststement this would dispel it.

For those that haven't seen it and for those that still think that the U.S.A./Israel are the 'good guys', you need to watch this. There are thousands of misdeeds that have been done in the Mid East by the U.S of Israel, but this ranks at the top and should never be forgotton. Nothing is beneath them.
