You dont even have to go & report, send by ems for safety your current 90 day report form , a new completed form , a photocopy of your details page of your passport, & a copy of your arrivals card & self addressed envelope with a 20 baht stamp.
They will send you back your new 90 day report reciept plus theall the copies you sentthem of your paper work & a new form to use for your next report
This works a treat for me every time ita a piece of piss

Thanks Ginger, this highlights nicely the total mess that is called immigration.
I have been doing 90 day reports by post for many years and my office has different rules.
If I don't include a copy of my current TM47 then I don't get served
Ginger Siam, you don't use Chok Chai (Korat) immigration do you ? All you state can be thrown out of the window. It ain't going to happen by post at Chok Chai.

Thai immigration law clearly states that you can have your 90 day period endorsed 7 days before or 7 days after the date indicated on the piece of paper in your passport.
I have found that the Mattaput immigration office is very helpful, courteous & flexible.
Many foreigners often complain about discrepencies between immigration offices & often say that 'each & every immigration office should follow Thai law equally'.
Such complaints are valid & we should all be thankful for the Thai immigration officials who do actually follow the Thai immigration law.
Idiots! I'm surrounded by idiots!
Two questions:
1. Do Bangkok accept postal 90-day reports?
2. If you just never report, do you just get charged 2000 THB at year end when you extend and that's it? Or are there other problems?
If it's just a 2000 THB once a year fine, you could just regard it as a tax and added to other low taxes in Thailand you are still living in a very low taxation location compared to almost anywhere else on the planet.
I was charged 1000 bht because I was one day late for 90 day reporting at the Korat immigration office.
I have moved to a Bangkok subberb and when I reported to the local office for 90 day reporting I was informed that the office didn't have the proper stamp to stamp my passport. I had to buy the office the stamp for 1000 bht. so they could stamp my passport. What the hell is going on? I didn't have to buy the stamp in Korat. They already had one. A friend of mine had to buy the slame office the same stamp. Now they have at least two or maybe more for each farang reporting. Looks like a rip off. The next time I reported they had the stamp but the head of the office wanted 300 bht for some kind of VIP treatment that I don't understand. I paid because I was afraid if I didn't they would make me wait all day to get even. I will be renewing my retirement visa at the office tomorrow. Hope the tea money I had to pay will put me first in line. Last year at Bangkok Immigration where I renewed my retirement visa, I was told if I could find the woman policeman who was in charge and pay her 300 bht I could move to the first in line. I couldn't find her and spent three hours waiting. Seems everyone has their hand out. Also one of the ladies at the office demanded to see my girlfriend's, who accompanied me ID card. For what reason? She didn't have it with her so they let it slide. I really dread going to the office. What will it be next and how many bht. I wonder if anyone else has had problems like this or is it just me. Maybe I have a face no one likes.
I've been doing my 90 day reporting and retirement visa renewals for years and never experienced such requests for such tea money. In fact, I'd suggest that with the recent realignment of the Immi Offices that there is even less expectation for under the table payments at those places where it once existed. Any expectations for and the actual payment of tea money when one's ducks and documents are in order is not the norm these days. Don't pay it. Just have your best smile on, don't be dressed like a bum, be prepared with the correct documents, be polite and don't request any VIP treatment. Stay the course and if you have the correct docs and follow the rules should not have any difficulty.
"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff....and it is all small stuff"
See this thread got bumped and this caught my eye.
I dutifully do my 90 day reporting, and go to renew my Visa with a colleague who simply gives the whole thing a miss (never report) this has been a couple of years now. Every year he gets charged 2,000 baht for failure to report. That is it. No other problems, no delay - just the 2,000 baht extra.
Which makes me wonder who is the fool. However, that being said, I suppose it is better to say he has not had another problem - yet.
Hmm, I got my new UK passport on the 26th of October and got my visa transferred from the old passport.
The 90 day notification was due on the next day, and foolishly I assumed they'd renewed it also. Not.
Going to have to bite the bullet tomorrow. Anyone know what I'll have to pay to sort this one out?
Probably 2000 baht
Instead of the above you can have an income letter from your embassy to certify how much you make. If you have 65,000 baht per month income then you don't need the big bank account.
I do once a year renewal of my retirement visa near Korat. Takes about 10 mins. I go to the same office for 90 day reporting and it only takes a few minutes.
Just dome my 90 day reporting at Phuket Immigration- 11 days late as I had not been well ! Ie 4 days after the 7 day thing
They were ok about it - no fine - they just reduced my next reporting period to 86 days for next time
I do the annual marriage extension at the Korat office. What a process. Will get the retirement extension, as per you, next year. Much easier and quicker.Originally Posted by ceburat
as far as I know, you don't have to transfer visas etc, just keep the old passport and present it with the new oneOriginally Posted by kmart
I Bangkok they don't look at the 90 day reporting.
When I was going to the Bangkok Immigration 1 time per year.
I did not report in at all for 3 years.
I change to Nakhon Pathom there got me for not doing the 90 day reporting.
For the 3 years cost 1K under the table or 2K for the Recipe
I told the woman from Immigratiom I will pay the 2k & the recipe thank you
I reported 6 days late 2 weeks ago at soi 5, and dearly beloved confirmed it's ok to report a week either side of the due date. Next report date is 90 days from last report.
Could be other offices/officers work different.
