The OP got it up the rear end.

    From the official immigration website.

    3. The foreigner makes the notification by registered mail.
    4. The notification must be made within 7 days before or after the period of 90 days expires.
    5. The first application for extension of stay by the foreigner is equivalent to the notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days.
    Offices accepting notification:
    1. Immigration Division1 Office, Chalermprakiat Government Complex,Chaengwattana Rd., Laksi ,Bangkok
    2. Visa extension units, Chamchuree Square Building, Floor 18 hatumwan, Bangmmigration offices throughout the countr

I have heard about one person who asked if he could report by post.
    He was told "no"
He applied by post and they processed it.

Won't happen at Chok Chai (Korat). They'll ignor it. When you phone to say you haven't received the 'slip back', they then tell you to report in person. Or this was what happened when they first refused postal reports. Everyone now seems to accept the reporting in person.

The yellow bit is what I was getting at. It seems the report by mail applies only to those who are currently in the system.

At Chok Chai nobody can report by mail. Irrespective, if in the system or not.

    Fair enough.
It won't be the first time the rules have been ignored/changed to suit immigration.

The fcukers know full well that a lot of farangs live a 4 hour round trip away. They're due to move the office soon, making it even further away, for some.

Perhaps you think yourself a wee bit too important as I doubt they are doing it specifically to make your life more difficult

Please enlighten me/us as to why they're doing it ? I personally don't live far enough away from the office for it to bother me. I'm more concerned for those in the outer catchment area.

The supervisor will be getting a cut from this scam.

I( guess he can't use his argument that Thai-Chinese are evil people then . . .

What is that called? A conundrum, perhaps?
