Can you get a sick note for overstay?

I'm down with the flu at the moment and don't think it would be the brightest thing to drive the 800klm round trip with what the pharmacy gave me.

I fly out on the 3rd Sept so would overstay 5 day's The fine would be about the same as the fuel etc (less if my Mrs gets loose at the gem market at Mae Sot!)

I think you should be able to get a doctors note saying it is dangerous for me to drive or infect a whole busload of people and have the fine waived

It wouldn't have been a problem but they seem to think there are only 29 days in a month. When i divide 365 days by 12 months I get 30.5?! Whats up with that??

You can be extended if you are in hospital, probably the best bet is to goto your local biggest hospital, get a letter from them, then send someone down immigration to get you an extension.

Ah, bit hard to do in sleepy petchabun....

Screw it, I'll pay the fine.

My wife gets that look at the thought of more gems and i can't be arsed the drive.

The extension would cost 1,900baht I believe anyway, plus the hospital would charge for the letter so not much saving there, just make sure you don't do anything stupid while you are on overstay, ie crashing into cars or anything that would involve you having to show your passport

The number of days in a month is irrelevant since visa's are based on days , not month.
    30 days, 90 days..

Just don’t over stay to often as when you go for a visa for your wife to go to Australia they look at that type of stuff. I was chatted about it years ago. I just don’t overstay anymore as it is just not worth the trouble. Just go for a ride spend the night in Udon or Nong Khai
