Thread: 30 Days extension possible ?

My 60 day Tourist-visa runs out on the 17 dec, and I need to stay in Thailand until the 12 of jan.
Last year I had an extension of 30 days (the1900 baht one)made in Mukdahan.
I have been told by my consulate that only 15 days can now been had. ?

So my option is to waste a night in Laos and get another 60 days on entry or ?
I have a 2 entry visa.

Have the Khon Kaen immigration office opend yet?
Telephone number if yes?

I have not heard about them dropping the 30 days extension on the tourist visa.

Check the expiry date of the visa if you intend to use the 2nd entry later on.
Usually there is not time enough left for a 30 days extension in between the 2, you have to use your 2nd entry first and do a 30 day extension on that one later.

And you're right about the expiry date. Its on the 5th of jan. So 18-19 days between

I talked to the Khon Kaen office today.
They opend 2 month ago, and they can issue a 30 days extension.
Maybe

I went today and they gave me 30 days.
Its an outdoor "office"; we felt comfortable there although staying there during the midday hours. Yes they close for the lunchhour.

I'll be needing to get a 30 day extension later this year, and Khon Kaen is close by to where I will be. Did you get your extension the same day, or did you have to leave your passport overnight? How long did the whole process take? Thanks!

It might help if you mentioned what type of visa you have.

Same day. Took a couple of hours, because I came late and had to wait during the lunchbreak
