Question 15 month stay in Thailand, how would you achieve it

I`ve twice before applied for and received a non imm multiple entry O visa
fron the Thai consulate in Hull and expect to do the same again.

I`m confused as to how that could enable a 14 or 15 month stay
which I`ve read is possible, unless I`ve mis-understood.

British citizen, under 50 yrs old not married not working.

Is the trick in the timing of the last(90 day) visa run??

A 14 or 15 month stay without a return to the UK
would be more convenient than a sub 12 month stay.

    Any advice/explanation?
    Thanks.

The visa utilization period is valid for 1 year, you do your last visa run the day before it runs out, hence 15 months.

Thanks for the reply dirtydog, I understand it now.

One more question, I had been planning to book
a return ticket(LON HTR- BKK - LON) and "throwing away"
the return leg as I have no intention of returning to UK
until I have to for visa renewal(i.e 14 or 15 months)

I see westeast travel have one way tickets for sale,
I`m happy with the price, will I have any problems
entering Thailand with only a 1 way ticket?

Anybody any experience with entering on just a
    1 way ticket?
    Thanks.

You may have trouble, but may not, I was ok. But isn't a flight able to be changed? Thereby keeping your return flightV

Throw it away after you've entered.

Never had a problem coming in on a one way ticket and have done it at least 5 or 6 times. If you have a non imm o in ya passport they are not going to care.

+1, Having just done this recently, there is no problem doing this if you have a non immigrant visa.

Thanks for the replies, think I`ll go with a 1 way ticket.

kingwilly, I`ve only took a quick look but I think
the maximum validity of a return ticket is 12 months
(often less) hence no use for a 14 or 15 month visit.
    Could be wrong.

Dr Andy, on the westeast site, inputting a departure date
    of 25/11/2009 and a return of 25/1/2010 shows a
Thai airways price of £544, not bad at all but a 1 way with
    EVA is £344.(Both direct non-stop).

Leaving on 25/12/2009, returning on 25/1/2010
with EVA shows a staggering £2747!, BA are £1040
    for same dates.
However a 1 way with EVA departing 25/12/09
is a mere £414, yet the BA 1 way price is double that.

Bizarre but that`s what`s on offer.

You could always book a cheapo flight out of Thailand with AirAsia or similar. It won't cost much and if you get any grief with a one way ticket just show them your outbound ticket.
