Thread: uk marriage- settlment visa

hi please can someone help Thai g/f coming to UK soon hopefully ,then we marry then apply for marriage - settlement visa 3 question please ?
how long before we get marriage visa so she can work ?
how difficult ?
how much ?

yes she come to UK on fiancée visa we marry within 6 months then have to apply for marriage - settlement visa

just get married in Thailand and apply for a settlement visa and she can work straight away.

can someone direct me to the relevant post , or if you can answer my questions i would be very grateful

Alan you seem a little confused my friend

1. you apply in BKK for her fiancee settlement visa before she comes to the UK

2. IF that is granted cost about £600 + TB test fees,,, then she can come to UK for 6 months .

3. You have to marry in the 6 months ,, its best not to leave it too long before marry ie. inside 4 months if you can ,, because you will have to apply for her FLR , and if you do by post it could take a month ,, cost about £400 ,, if you aply in person on the day it costs you £600,,

4. There is no automatic FLR just because you are married ,, you will still have to satisfy certain criteria. ie enough money in the bank to look after her , and your current work position .

5. She will be allowed to work as soon as she is granted her FLR ,, she will get a UK 2 year spouse visa ID card .

6. I know all this because we went through all this shit in November to get my wifes FLR ,,

7. Then in the next 2 years she will have to pass her UK citizen test before you apply for her ILR ,,, get her doing this ASAP because the bastards are now implying major changes to this test taking it out of the PC and into written words ,, and also limiting the amount of times she will be able to take the test,,, my tip sort it ASAP before its bye bye again at terminal 3,,,, my wife tests again tommorow .. Test fees £34 ,,,, which is just another labour tax as 250000 a year take it average 3 times to pass = £ 25 mill ,,yeah it pisses me off to.
