Police Clearance for Non OA from London

Can anyone confirm whether the police clearance certificate absolutely must be applied for through the link on the London Embassy web page? Has anyone perhaps used another source?
I ask because I already have an in date certificate from another agency (Basic Disclosure Scotland) which I am required to get for my job.

The embassy website says quite categorically they will only accept police clearance from here; https://www.acro.police.uk/police_certificates.aspx

Even though your clearance sounds like a higher level, the Scottish connection may well cause a problem.
Call the embassy but be prepared for disappointment.

graym; Can't you use the Thai Consulate in Glasgow? Or do they not issue that type of visa?

The Basic Disclosure omits those offences covered by enhanced disclosure, I am not suggesting you have anything on either, just received one agter 7 months, so if you require enhanced and you cannot apply yourself allow plenty of time.

The UK consulates no longer issue long stay O/A visas. Has to be done through the embassy by post or in person.

Thanks for the input, I do unfortunately have a couple of misdemeanors in the past, over 30 years ago...

Probably regarded as 'spent' under the rehabilitation of offenders act. Should not count against your police report today.
