^Just look at the examples. Once you have done it once it makes life much easier unless there is a som tam shop nearby the immigration office that you like to visit anyway. Friends of mine who report in Chang Wattana still waste half a day doing this. PM me if you have any problems.
Yeah it mostly only works with IE or a browser that has an IE emulator or add on dealy. I got it to open in Firefox but you can't fill out the fields..
Try the link I provided in IE and see if you can access it. The reason you're getting a security warning is that Immigrations didn't buy a security certificate from a company, they "self signed" one themselves. Just click go to the website anyway
The other thing which is super important about this online dealy is the timeframe;
That trips up a LOT of people because for the online reporting you can do it 15 days before down to 7 days BEFORE your actual report is due. For the in person reporting it's 15 days before down to 7 days after the due date with no penalty.
Don't forget foreigners in Bangkok can still do 90 day reporting at the Immigrations Offices at Major Suksawat (across the river) or Imperial World Mall Lad Prao Soi 83. I go out to Lad Prao quite a bit and there's never more than one or two people in the queue IF that.
I did my 90 report today prior to my retirement extension on 22 Oct. Now you'd think that 22 Oct would be my next report date at the office when doing my extension. But no it's not, they've given my next report date as 8 Dec. I can do it
So I need to do my next 90 day report online approx 40 days after going to their offices. This is stupid IMO.Originally Posted by toddaniels
You are confusing two very different things which you do at immigrations. One is your 90 day reporting and the other is applying for your yearly extension of stay.. They are NOT linked together at all except as I outline below;
Here's the way it's supposed to work;Meaning yearly extensions AFTER that first year don't count for a 90 day report, you do a 90 day report when it says on the slip.
- the very FIRST time you get a yearly extension inside the country it counts as you first 90 day report. (in fact they put a little paper in your passport which says when your next report is due!)
- after that the 90 day reporting and your yearly extensions have NOTHING to do with each other.
If you leave/re-enter thailand your 90 day clock starts ticking down again and you'd do a 90 day report 89 days after entering thailand. Also even though you can report in person 15 days early and up to 7 days late without a penalty/fine, that doesn't mean you don't report if you're flying out a week after you would have reported.. You are obligated to report IF you stay inside thailand for 90 days, end of story.. Now that all the immigration offices and border crossings are allegedly connected, the people in the 90 day report area can see when you left, if you were supposed to report before you left and they can ding you with the fine..
There are a few (as in very few) offices which 'reset the 90 day clock' when you do your yearly extension, but I don't know which ones those are.
Here's what the paper they staple into your passport when you get your first yearly extension of stay looks like telling you when to do your next 90 day report;
I have to disagree. When doing the 90 day report in person, prior to doing it online, the imm office used to have your 90 day report and your extension done on the same day. So if you did your last report say 75 days before your extension due date then they'd round up the dates so the 2 coincided. Hence why when doing ones extension one did their report at the same time. Well that's how it was at Korat and Kap Choeng.Originally Posted by toddaniels
Disagree all you want, but your own recent experience seems to back up my original statements not your counter to it.
Now just because your yearly extension was due and your 90 day report was due in another 15 days but they did them together, sounds like it was just blind luck about the dates and totally coincidental rather than a concerted effort on their part to make things easier for you.
In fact, if we look at it, we can see that you were within the 15 day early for your 90 days, so they weren't bending at all to take your 90 day report.. I'd bet dollars to durian if you were a month out, they'da told you to come back.
Then again you did see where I said, "some pissant offices in Nakhon Nowhere make up their own rules" <- paraphrased.. IMHO; both Korat and KCI totally qualify as pissant little offices in Nakhon Nowhere"..
Is indeed. 90 day report is tied to your last entry date into Thailand or your last report date. Over time the 90 day report and extension to stay date may be the same but the two are not related. I have over the years made sure my dates are the same by taking advantage of the 3 week 90 day window.Originally Posted by toddaniels
It wasn't a recent experience. I tried to show an example but fooked up. The office I use, even though it's staffed by Storm Troopers can see that having to report to their office within days of the 15 days before-7 days after rule, when a journey of just under 300km is undertaken, is downright ridiculous. Therefore they'd make the 2 dates coincide. No tea money paid. That has happened for the last 10 years and was not just coincidental.Originally Posted by toddaniels
All history now as it's a piece of piss to report even if it was weekly.
^ Well that cleared it right up for me...
Remember
Anybody else whose online report has simply been ignored by our dear friends at immi ? Khon Kaen in my case.
Made the report and got the TNR ref nr on 1 Sept for the reporting deadline of 15 Sept.
Since then nothing but "Pending ".
Rang them yesterday and got some BS about "too early, can apply maximum 10 days before deadline."
So will have to waste time and money on another visit. Seems like the goodwill of the immi head office to make life easier is being undermined by lazy incompetent staff not doing their job.
Okay, this is gonna sound out there BUT, please bear with me..
I went out to Chaengwattana to do my 90 day report (because I haven't left the country since 2009 and my data is NOT in their online system).
When I turned in my report I asked the gurl about why I couldn't use the online system. She promptly sent me to the 3.5 stripe guy in the corner who runs that area. He looked at my departure card and said, "Too old, not in the system. Leave & come back get a new card." I told him I in thai I thought it was total nonsense. <- which he actually took surprisingly well.
This got me thinking... Perhaps the thai immigration in their 'finite wisdom' ONLY input arrival cards since 2013 (two years worth).. To test this, I'm going to take my departure card out of my passport, go to my local police station, get the free police report stating I lost my departure card, a requisite at Chaengwattana to get a new free one (unless you 'make a donation'). When they give you a new arrival/departure card they input your information into the system so it reflects the change.. THEN I'm gonna see if I can do the 90 day report online when it comes due.
This whole 'unable to report' could be something as simple as their laziness to input the years and YEARS worth of arrival cards into the online system's data base.
So, if anyone has a 90 day report comin' soon, who hasn't be able to use the online system and wants to try this "switch to a new departure card", try it. I mean there's no down side and no cost involved other than your time to get the police report and the new card from Immigration BEFORE your 90 day report would be due online..
If no one has a pair of balls that big, I'm still gonna do it. BUT my report isn't due again until Christmas Eve, so it'll be a few months before I report back..
Wouldn't that be the craziest thing? Switch out departure cards with a new "in the system" one and presto the online reporting would work?
Stranger things have happened in the glorious "Land 'O Thais"...
Anyway, that's all I got guys...
Except that up to now you are in the system, but off grid. Once you do it online they have your financial details saved plus other stuff of potential value. If using your information and that of others could be used to their pecuniary advantage, they would not be able to resist it.Originally Posted by toddaniels
I enjoy a 140km round trip as a day out for 90 day reporting. If I time it to coincide with my quarterly bath, so much the better.
^ pray tell how the 90 day online system would have my financial details saved?
Dial that paranoia back a coupla notches.. Believe me they can track you right down if they wanted to.
I mean I saw what comes up on me when they enter my passport number in the 90 day reporting room out at Chaengwattana (even though I'm NOT in the online system).
It shows my name, sex, age, nationality, pp#, address, how many yearly extensions I've had, when my current extension expires, if I've ever been late on a 90 day report, that I changed passports, that I haven't left the country since 2009, but that's about it.
Christ I can go to Thai Immigration at Lad Prao for 48 baht round trip, but I'd sure get a new arrival departure card and NOT have to go if I could use the online 90 day system instead!
Not paranoia, quite. My record as long stay O/A retired will have financial info on it for sure. I am cautious about any form of potential identity fraud/theft especially where those nice trustworthy Thia immigration staff are concerned.
^Point taken.
Mine is dated 2011 and it online works fine for me.Originally Posted by toddaniels

Not for me....see my post #112
I presume getting a TNR nr and Pending status meant I'm in the system and had jumped through the hoops. On asking why the online report was ignored the immi guy said with a shrug "internet no good, better come here." Which I guess means " We can't be bothered to process online reports; get your arse here." Maybe I'm too hansum !
^FWIW: I just called Khon Kaen and talked to two semi-clueless officers. The first one said, "Oh, if it doesn't' work just come in.." She took it poorly I said I thought that was nonsense.. So I was handed off to a guy who said the same shit you said "You can apply only 10 days before"... When I told him in the official manual the window of opportunity is 15 days BEFORE down to 7 days before, he didn't believe me. I got his email and am emailing him the PDF file of the user manual; which is all in thai so he should have a rudimentary understanding of it.
^ Thanks todddaniels for your efforts and hope they get kK Immi to do their job.
But I'm skeptical because for them online reporting is just extra work with no opportunity to earn tea money.
I don't think it's an understanding of the rules that's missing; rather the will (effort) to fulfill them. Where there's no will, there's no way.
Is mine an isolated case? No reports of other immi offices not processing online reports?
