    Thai visa update infomation

OK, Singapore is issueing multi entry Non imm "O" visas for married people which are valid for one year, yep married not for children, ie you got a kid and you aint married you aint gonna get this visa.

The 30 day on arrival visa will be strictly enforced, I had a little chat with the chappies on the Cambodian border today, the immigration there will not let you back in if you have done 90 days on VOA visas, they will warn you of this before you cross the border, thats as long as they catch it then I suppose, otherwise you maybe a tad foked, but if you come in on your third VOA you can then on your next visa run goto a Thai embassy or consulate and apply for a tourist visa and start it all again.

I especially like the 'not let you back in' part, not even a '7 day entry' or something, nope just a "sorry sir, you're fcuked and will have to stay in this border town shithole"

    ad infinitum?
no need to be away for any length of time?

can't see what all the fuss is about in that case.

Basically nothing is easy, or rather there is no easy option.

Even a Work Permit is only a lack of headache for the 6-8mths of the year before you have to re-apply (as distinct from renew of course - oh no, that would make far too much sense and be far too easy for Immigrations liking. Better to destroy half a forest's worth of paper (most of which is immediately chucked on receipt anyways)).

All in all, very frustrating process whatever the route you take.

When I first moved here we were all doing train runs to Penang every 3 months, it was great when they brought out the double entry tourist visa, of course at that time the only border crossings were into Malaysia, so it was a quick trip to Pedang Besar and wait for the train back or get a mini bus to hat yai, you guys dont know how easy you got it then Nong Khai got its bridge, WOW Thailand was really an open country now, we could go north or south for visa runs

Something to hide, CMN? Skeletons in the closet? A moments indescretion with a sheep named Flossy back home perhaps?

Thereby encouraging them to turn back and stay in Thailand illegally...it doesn't make sense.

    Stop confusing your readers DD

VOA = Visa On Arrival, it is a proper visa issued by immigration officers before passing immigration.
It is intended for short time visitors from 20 countries.
They get 15 days of stay, a visa stamp, and an entry stamp.

TVE = Tourist Visa Exemption is allowance to enter the country for 30 days, for purpose of tourism only, without a visa. Visitors from 40 ++ countries are elegible for that.
They only get an entry stamp, no visa.
