These guys teach English to kids. They're not astrophysists or quantum mechanics scientists. They're toads in silly ties teaching English to mutant kids who could, for the most part, give a shit about the English language.

I suppose passion runs high among the truely committed.

A little harsh there. I agree many take themselves too seriously, and this nutjob here is one of them. But a good many English teachers are pretty good people with a good head on their shoulders. Many are youngsters spending a few years traveling around before settling into a career, others are semi-retired and of course many enjoy the simplistic and non-stressful lifestyle this type of job offers although it also does not offer much in the way of financial rewards, but to each his own.

But, yeah the "business" has more than its share of nutcases like think job here. But to paint them all with the same brush is not really fair.

I would kindly request that you give CSSFan a break. Why? Because of not for him people might still be taking TEFLWatch seriously. You know, I love the internet. Without it I doubt that I could live in Thailand. But if you have never had to put up with an organized attack on you (or your company) by people with an agenda or possibly with some serious emotional problems you will never really know what it is like. this guy exposed TW and Greg for what they are.

Perhaps I started this thread here just because Greg refers to himself as some sort of TEFL superhero.

Oh, don't know anything about Text and Talk. Ain't ever said anything about the organization either. Maybe you got me confused with someone else.

I am not supporting Greg's conduct, but I have some questions

1) Do you think that the internet should be restricted so that you are free to use it in any way you wish and have complete freedom of speech but other people are not?

2) Is he breaking any laws in the country he is based in, and if so, why have you not used such laws to stop him?

3) Are you expecting sympathy?

4) Do you deny that people who start vendettas have usually been provoked in some way?

5) Did G try to blackmail you and is now punishing you for not complying?

6) How is anyone to know that your version "I would kindly request that you give CSSFan a break. Why? OF COURSE NOT. Free speech is great. But libel is not.

He is breaking laws in every country I know of, not just the "easy" countries like Thailand.

I don't evem know where the guy is.

And I provoked greg how? Never met him. Never spoken to him. Never done business with him. Sudddenly this insane moderator was claiming I had had him fired from his job and that he fled the country in fear of me. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW HIS NAME AT THE TIME. And his friends confirm it was just a story created... to get hits and thus more Google revenues? Your guess is as good as mine. I could go on and on, but most has been covered.

He has threatened me with lots of stuff and accused me of a lot of stuff. he has also sent me dozens of religious Emails callimg me his brother. I will not for a second attempt to guess his motives.

I think we can safely say Greg has been proven to be a liar who will do and say anything. You don't like TESOL courses and i run a TESOL course. Most people think our course is pretty good and while I am not perfect, no one has ever accused me of blatantly making things up like Greg has been proven to do.

Well, there you go. You'll have to get off your butt and find him if you want to stop him and if it really does bother you. That seems to be the obvious solution, and far more effective than simply moaning about it.

And as soon as I find him he will close down site A and move it all to site B, all the while claiming he has nothing to do with it..... You know he claims to have nothing to do with the site that has all the TW posts (after he deleted EVERY positive post about TEFL International) while it is quite obvious he is the mod.

It is the current nature of the internet. In the future I believe there will be far stronger rules and better means of enforcement. Not now.

You alone chose to wholly rely on the internet to build up a business and get one over on more traditional competitors, presumably because you thought it to be the quickest, easiest, cheapest way of doing so. There is no way that I would put all my eggs in such a huge uncontrollable basket. But you did, and unless you can think of an alternative, you have to live with the downsides of doing so.
