    Is this fair to professors? I think it's ok, imho, after all they work in the public realm and should be accountable to students, who pay a LOT of money these days just to occupy seats in the groves of academe. Can't find a site for colleges and universities outside the US.

    Actually that site has been highly criticized, it also has a branch rate my teacher and, predictably, it is generally used by aggrieved students, lacks any attempt to be based in fact, does not encourage students to use appropriate means to redress legitimate problems in classes. Or it can also used by students to bully weaker teachers, especially since it is an essentially an anonymous internet forum.

    I most certainly wouldnt use the website as a measure of a good school or university.

    A lot of instructors certainly must regard it as an unwelcome new effect of the information age, like a popularity contest (although the top-rated teachers and schools probably don't mind!)

    dunno, my xwife was on it, and the commetnts werent very nice, mate teh school i worked at the kids were all too nice to write anything nasty like that, its mainly aussie, brit and yankie kids in schools back 'ome.

    yeah i coached a number of teams, enjoy it.
