I enjoyed his vids and posts.

Seemed like a fuggin' weirdo to me.

I liked Joko's contributions, the vids were decent entertainment value, though a bit heavy on, "here's helmut cam footage of me riding all day, set to music".

He was interesting in that he seemed to be on the verge of becoming something (more than a guy who rides his motorbike around solo, drinks a tad too much beer, and lays down nightly alone), but it just wasn't clear what.

He seemed pretty proud of Leaving Amerika (the title of his blogspot), but to what end was always my question.

Like a lot of Americans, he lived in a dull neighborhood, had an average sales job, and I think, wanted to start living.

The US lifestyle is quite dull IMO.

For many, expat life is only possible by teaching English.

Some start a business, and it usually seems to be a bar or restaurant that eventually fails.

"Teach English or nothing" is a phrase.

Many don't want to continue to teach after about 10 years, but continue to do so because they don't want or cannot return to their native country.
