Not sure who was running AF, but they did not seem to know what they were doing.
The place was constantly bombed by new users posting complete nonsense ... I don't mean stupid ideas or bad jokes, I mean weblinks to nothing and the like. That should have been pretty easy to control.
There clearly were not enough moderators. At the end, the only one I knew of was a confused bisexual up in Myanmar who repeatedly admitted he didn't moderate enough due to his poor web connection.
Somebody hacked my youtube:
That is what all bisexuals say, they blame it on their connections.Originally Posted by UrbanMan

Ajarn was the first forum I ever joined way back in 2001. Was a wealth of info for me at the time. Since TD started I have used it less and less and the last 2 years have been a joke over there and I would only log in once a week towards the end and post even less.
Still - would have been nice to have a bit of a heads up from Louis that this was going to happen. Poor form IMO. I might go stir @Ajarncom (Phil) up on twitter. He really like it when that happens. -

News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.
Who is that Jason Genova fuckwit?...
He's a retarded guy with OCD that is into bodybuilding and competing. He started making his own youtube videos and in the day of age has become a temporary celebrity b/c he's so strange.
2 Supplement companies sponsored him.
He has not physique as a bodybuilder but is competing
He's retarded and lived with his mom.
Here are more people using Jason and his mental retardation:
Is this Thailand's liveliest TEFL discussion?
Apparently
Quite possibly yes. It's now also the only one. Even the most loyal poster would be hard pressed to describe any discussion on TVF as lively.Originally Posted by Urban Poet
There is an EFL section of the board, and if posters who've arrived want to discuss teaching topics I hope they do so.
I'm out of the EFL scene and have been out of it for some time, but I like to read what's happening occasionally.
I went over to "Thailand teaching" forum and honestly, it seems limited.
TD is a kinda everything and anything forum which is why I have warmed to the place. After a day of teaching the last thing I want to talk about is teaching. Plenty of time for that in work meetingsOriginally Posted by Cujo

Has anyone actually discussed teaching English as a foreign language in this thread? I can't be arsed going back through the thread to check but I don't recall any such discussion in this thread.
