What's a Typical Muay Thai Class like?

I'm probably going to join a Muay Thai gym within the next month, I have some time to kill and a punching bag at home, so I was wondering if somebody could tell me what EXACTLY (in order) happens in their class. If each day is different, tell me what they all have in common, what does MT emphasize, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about.

You go in for the afternoon session around 3pm, make yourself known that you know fuck all, get directed to the skipping ropes to warm up, lots of stretching, some very basic pad work and teaching leg stances and basic punching techniques, listen to the kids laughing at the farang trying to learn their national sport, drink shitloads of water, more basic pad work, warm down, stretching, by which time 2 or 3hrs later you'll either collapse in the heat or vow never to go again.

Don't ever join the 7-9am pre breakfsat empty stomach session, that's aimed at the pros.

They are used to farangs having a go so are very gentle. You'll most certainly come across a bunch of Iranian or Kazakstanian fighters at most gyms

Bruce Lee's thing was his own invention of Jeet kun do, a hybrid of many fighting styles ...I don't think any muay Thai was incorporated in this style

BTW, no self respecting Muay thai gym will let you spar for at least 2-3wks. Unless your a loudmouth know it all twat, which will probably see you bamboozled by some 8 year old. Had my nose broken by a 12yo

    55 cheers BB

DJ Pat summed it up well.

I was 17 last time I trained proper MT at jockey gym/Bang Pho in Thailand.
I used to hate the early morning runs, they'd knock on my door and I'd pretend to not be home.

Afternoon training was fun (for want of a better word) warm up, skipping, stretches, shadow boxing, bag work/pad work, sparring, shower change then out for drinks with the lads. Rinse and repeat.

God I left lots of openings for gay jibes..
    Bugger me.

I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok... la la la 55
