    Funding Christmas

    Harrisburg cancels Christmas (parade)

Santa Claus isn't coming to town this year for Pennsylvania's financially struggling capital city — at least not to its annual holiday parade.

City officials have canceled the Nov. 19 event because organizers were not able to raise enough money. The parade needed about $25,000 in financial support, but donations have fallen far short, parks director Brenda Alton told The Patriot-News of Harrisburg.
Wouldn't you think one of the churches or the Christian groups out there would pay for something like this to keep it going? Who knows maybe no having the parades will lead back to the real meaning of Christmas...whatever that was.

You may be right. Christians don't need holidays they have their holy days. That's why I said getting rid of all the modern Christmas might get Christianity back to its core...whatever that was.

But why in the middle of November?
Thought Christmas was some time toward the end of December.

The group or groups that would fund this sort of crap would be the ones who benefit from it - traders.

Sure is a money-making holiday from November to New Year.
