So with all this political debate on the issues forum, I have to ask...
IS ANYONE VOTING ON TUESDAY BESIDES ME?!

Yep...straight Republican ticket.
Voted absentee last week and I'm sure Congress will not go to the party of "cut & run"!
Yes, I already mailed my absentee ballot (Washington State) a few days ago. I didn't vote straight Republican as I very much like the performance of Norm Dicks ... but I voted to oust Maria Cantwell from the Senate.
Voted straight Reppo...gusaa that makes me a Reppo-Seppo...
Nine out of ten Jihadis agree: Vote Democrat
Palistinian mass murderers and terrorist leaders agree vote Democrat
I voted on absentee ballot.
Good thing too...we might need some extra ones of those....
i didn't vote.
my rationalization:
my district is very blue and the incumbents that i would have voted for will certainly be re-elected.
not proud of it, but.....
not trying to hijack, but..... part of the reason i didn't go through the process of voting was my reaction to the electoral college in the last two presidential elections. i was left with a sense that my vote really didn't have the same weight as voters in other states.
i remember reading an article a few months ago (the new yorker?) that stated in the last two presidential elections, the result came down to the electoral votes of 12 or 13 'purple states'.
an overwhelming percentage (high 80s low 90s) of advertising $$$ and campaign visits were to those 12 or 13 states in the final month of the election....granted those ads are annoying, but this type of system (as it is currently being run/manipulated) can't be healthy.
it's time for a constitutional convention to resolve a whole host of issues....the electoral college among them.
Last time I voted in a US election was 1978. Lived abroad since then and the rules allowing us to vote in national races kind of snuck up on me too late for me to get registered.
Next time.
just moved but got registered on the last possible day. was interesting as there was a line and this is sort of small town midwest area. seems people might be a bit more energized this time (hopefully). tuesday is the day, vote early and vote often
Georgia, in spite of its attempts to pass voter photo ID laws (struck down three times -- give it a rest), makes it possible to vote early at multiple locations. I'm in New Orleans next Tuesday and so had to stop by the county annex today.
Cobb County is overwhelmingly Republican -- Newt Gingrich was our representative. I'd say that I've taken it upon myself to be the voice of the Democrat in a red, red precinct -- except I haven't voted a straight Demo ticket since I was 18 years old.
another thing -- I refuse to display bumper stickers or yard signs.
Well, as I managed to get back to the States for a bit I thought I would go ahead and vote. Being overseas for awhile I forgot just how many crap adds and phone calls you had to endure during an election... its unbelievable.
