Is there really a God regardless of Religion ?

I think we all believe in some kind of superior beings (might be it spiritual or aliens) so the question of God existing is basically answered as it's present in our minds and souls. You can't deny something that doesn't exist so if you trying to prove it doesn't exist, you might as well prove that it does exist. It's like Quantum Mechanics and the String Theories. The burden of proof doesn't have to be because you can't measure it, and because you can't measure it means you can't actually disprove it doesn't exist. Only surrounding theories and measures will make the case.

Now this is a complete different issue when it comes to Religion. Is Religion really the worshipping of a God or simply the worshipping of men who worship a God ? Can Religion make us closer to God ? or on the contrary does it make us go apart from him by the very act of worshipping ?

Maybe a few worshippers here could enlight us

It reminds me of the song " What if God was one of us"

Yes there is and if he prefers one race over another than he can go and have intercourse with who ever he wants.

I think the problem with any religion is this: how do you explain why you must go through a human in order to talk to God? Why must another human be the one to guide you? Why must a book written by a human be you main guide to enlightenment?

Yeah I am with you but like everything else with humans, they need guidance, and you can't achieve guidance without some "tangible" assets.

No there is no god. I have no proof of that, the same as in my opinion the belivers dont have any that there is one. As far as a supirior being, well there might be a more advanced species, that could appear "godlike" but that not a god as most people see in some sort of spiritual way.

Now God is supposed to be omipresent and omnipotent, that basicaly means that it is everywhere at the same time and know everything thats happening, obviously if this was the case then as Sursak says "why do you need to talk through a human" (I'm not nessesarliy talking direct speach but rules passed down through alledged prophets). Just think for a miniute just how big the universe is and god is everywhere, did it just create us ? If so why bother making something as big as the universe just for us to live in ?

Religion has proved through the ages that is it basicaly a way to manipulate and control the masses and guess what it works. People just don't want to belive that you live and then die and then nothing, zilch, nada its much more comfertable to think there is something after.

well, isn't man a transcendant animal ? I mean our intelligence is the very evidence that we go beyond our normal condition as animals.

regarding to OP, IMO there has to be something behind all this, but it has nothing to do with islam/budhism/scientology/christianity, etc....

    religion is for the weak.

What makes you think God created the universe for us?

Maybe He created it for Himself and we get to enjoy Him and His creationn along with Him

That we persist in, and seemingly enjoy, killing each other, and are intent on fucking up our one and only planet would suggest you may well be in error here.

Where does intelligence come from? Considering we're all organic what kind of strange process would have let us come into being while other organics can't think or even move (like a tree)?

Is it planned, a mistake, pure randomness? Why do I have dreams about people I've never seen or places I've never beem?

Saying that a spiritual being, like man, doesn't need a spritual Being like God, is like saying a heart doesn't need blood or a fish water.

Every single apostle was martyered for his faith in God.

I'd like to see rayacary, the "Strong Man," among us die for something he beleves in.

Well you are correct here, but wouldn't that be the very reason why we are so different ? our desire to dominate and survive while we know that we are made of something else ? killing each other is just our two sides fighting to win.

Edit: wrong word, thinking ahead of my posting

    Where does intelligence come from?
That's something evolutionists can't explain. Intelligence is in the spiritual realm, the realm of justice, honesty, truth, caring, love, realms of the spiritual which indicate a Spirit.

"God is a spirit and those who worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth."

    "God is love."

Those are non-material. They don't die. They are eternal principles.

That we persist in, and seemingly enjoy, killing each other,
That's proof that sin entered the world, and death with it, is all.

Why not look at things from God perspective instead of man's?

    God hates religion.
