I also do not know you and I am loathe to make presumptions...everything I know about you is based on what you have posted here...your apparent ignorance and disrespect for others.

One of the reasons I left LoS after more than 5 years was because I was sick of meeting “sexpats” both in my professional capacity and my private life. What happens to many is what psychologists call “normalising” where deviant behaviour becomes acceptable as it is all around you. How many of you guys would go into a workplace and openly brag about bedding prostitutes in the West and show such ignorance towards women?

I am no moralist and understand prostitution is not a farang problem (that really is the tip of the iceberg). But guys who partake should IMHO exhibit some degree of respect, decorum and discretion.

I see you are from NI gjbkk. I spent quite some time there 20 years ago. I will probably return to LoS at some point and if you are up to the challenge we could make something good out of this: muay thai gym (Huay Kwang perhaps?), headguards and gloves and we sell tickets to TD members to raise money for Ms. McGee’s charity. I am sure quite a few people would like to see your ignorance jap-slapped and I would be willing to oblige.

(Other readers please don’t misinterpret this: I am a quiet, unassuming guy but with some people rational argument fails).

Yes, and it has to be among consenting adults. I don't go to many places that have signs of "indentured servatitude" or worse.

Worth noting is that these bad conditions are mostly locals abusing locals.

Still despicable, but that is the case.

^ Most (more than 50%) are hooking for economic reasons, IMO.

In Patters many young ladies go there (often with friends) to send money home, and there is a possibility of getting a "boyfriend" who will cuddle and send money. Sometimes marriage happens and these ladies can see the world. Exception, not the rule, but I've met a couple of ladies that married Westerners.

Prostitution has been around for thousands of years, and will always be around.

There should be parameters of decency with regard to it.

Exactly! I am a woman who has been living in Thailand for a few years. At least this girl is trying to help in some small way. The ones that want to be helped to get out of the business are going to be helped. True that society needs more jobs, and safety measures for these women such as safe houses. Thailand has many prostitutes that are male, and female, and some are sold into it by their families. Change should start at the top, but it won't because the goverment is part of it, and partaking in it.

Easy for you guys to sit and put down this woman, but be honest with yourself, how many are also, or have been with prostitutes, and have helped this business prosper? Well, look at yourselves before condoning this woman.
