I posted the full article from one site I get some news/information about politics so you don’t even have to click to read the entire article. I believe a lot of (radical, extreme, aggressive, dense, racist) wingnuts have a hard time thinking beyond tomorrow, but they should. An example/reason why is pasted below.

Is This Really What You Want, Wingers?

In the comments thread of this fine post by bmaz on 21st-Century Hate in the USA, bobschacht worried out loud about the possible consequences of the fanning of the flames of right-wing and racist hatred:

...I think the Town Hall meetings imbroglio going on across the country now have ripped open a scab in the body politic: It may be that most of the country has moved on, and is willing to accept a Black President, and gay marriage, but there is a Resistant Core that is terrified because their world is getting turned upside down.

During the Bush years, the Republicans stoked the fires of fear about National Security, teaching us to fear each other and Watch Out for “terrorists,” most of whom were expected to have brown skin and speak Middle Eastern languages.

Now that Bush is no longer in office, and we have a non-White President who campaigned on a platform of change, Republicans are stoking the fires of fear because circumstances have forced President Obama to tackle ten problems at once, each one knee-capped by the Bush administration. But the cumulative effect is to raise the prospect of wholesale change, upsetting the Status Quo and threatening the Domestic Security of the people who identified with the previous ruling class.

    [...]

It will be a miracle if President Obama makes it through his presidential term(s) alive.

Well, as I told him, this is what I tell wingnuts who I suspect of fantasizing about committing grievous bodily harm against President Obama, Democrats, or non-wingnuts in general:

Remember how we got the Great Society? Aka New Deal II?

That was when JFK got martyred in a city known to be a hotbed of right-wing racist extremism. The guy who took over for JFK turned out to be much more progressive than JFK ever was, much to the dismay of the right-wing nutjobs who’d put up all those “WANTED for TREASON” posters all over Dallas in the first weeks of November, 1963.

Remember how Bill Clinton got re-elected in 1996, two years after the Republicans — backed by a media that they or their arch-conservative financiers had increasingly bought up, bought off or scared off from honest reporting?

That happened when some of your buddies in a right-wing Michigan militia thought it would be a neat idea to murder 168 government employees and their children by blowing up the Murrah Building in Oklahoma City. [See also the picture in this post.]

Do you all really want to go for the trifecta here?

Heck, we could even go back to when the ultimate wingnut, John Wilkes Booth, ruined the chances of his beloved South's making a smooth adjustment to a post-slavery world when he put a bullet in the head of the man who advocated generosity, "with malice towards none and charity for all", towards the foe he had just vanquished. This is why key leaders of the Confederacy, people such as Generals Robert E. Lee and Joseph Johnston, were horrified at the news of Booth's murder of Lincoln: Because they knew that the near-universal shock and revulsion generated by Booth's act had opened the door to the South's being treated as a captive province for the next few decades.

A word to the wise, wingers: Is this really what you want?

^ I don't think there is anything to fear, Landreth. It's a good thing to allow people to vent their frustrations and anger in these venues. I read where the Obama people were upset that they weren't seeing enough anger at the meetings he was attending because they lost the opportunity to respond to criticism vociferously.

^ 555 I guess if the SEIU and ACORN members didn't get bussed in at 6am and scoop the first speaking tickets for citizens, Obama might get a real Q.

    Well done, S.

And yes. Sometimes, as fantastic as it is seems, I think think the chaos produced in the examples you mention is where extremists want to go whenever they're backed in the kind of corner they're in now. Because in chaos fear prevails, and the people with the guns (read military) and the money (read media) and the apparent willingness to mow down anything they see that they don't like (abortionists... Govt. workers...) will take over. Inevitably.

Civil society is a luxury, but it's not necessarily where the current crop of extremists in America (including the ones in suits and ties) want to go.

    Just one reporter's opinion.

The schism in the American psyche between politics, race, religion and freedom will never 'move on', it has been ingrained into it's character all through it's history. It's a paradox that what makes it so great is also it's downfall.

The various elements -- the liberal earnestly confused when rational dialogue won't hold sway; the anti-liberal rage at a world self-evidently out of joint; and, most of all, their mutual incomprehension -- sound as fresh as yesterday's news. (Internment camps for conservatives? That's the latest theory of tea party favorite Michael Savage.)

And now some are rationalizing the violence

I found this exchange on "Meet the Press" pretty disturbing. Instead of denouncing threats of violence against our elected government, Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) seemed to rationalize it.

I don't get this argument from Coburn or those inciting violence. "The people" elected this government. Our side won. If Coburn's side isn't happy, they need to elect their own people. That's how it's done in the United States. The very fact that Coburn didn't immediately denounce the threats of violence is way beyond the pale.

Coburn selected his words very carefully and with the full intention of not denouncing the rising pitch of hysteria and the accompanying threatening violence. Because they're afraid, they're justified in threatening violence. It's the "Suit and Tie" script that encourages the minions like McVeigh.

^ Ya, I was just reading about a gay guy apparently involved with BO who got murdered...
If not, you should. Larry Sinclair alleges that he had gay sex and used cocaine with Obama in Chicago back in 1999. Also, right now the Chicago police department are preparing to meet with Sinclair over phone calls he received from Donald Young prior to his being murdered in December of 2007. Young was the gay choir master at Trinity United Church of Christ, Obama's church. Sinclair has no idea how Young got his number, and police had no leads into the murder except for this connection with Sinclair. Sinclair is not considered a suspect in the murder, but they certainly are interested in talking with him since he might have been one of the last persons to talk to Young before his death. So there seems to be some connections here between the three: Obama, Sinclair, and Young. We must wait to see what arises out of the ongoing investigation.

What do those Chicago politicans do in their spare time?

It would be interesting to see if BO's moronic statement against the Cambridge police provides additional incentive to Chicago's finest to thoroughly investigate.

this lunatic brought a loaded gun to the obama's health care town hall in NH.

he was also carrying a sign that said, "it's time to water the tree of libery"....the rest of that quote from jefferson includes "with the blood of tyrants'.

and btw, this quote was one of OK city bomber timothy mcveigh's favorites.

No, let's not hear 'stories'. Let's hear facts. Do you have evidence that Obama has been investigated for corruption? Do you have evidence that he has been convicted of some crime?
You are just smearing him through innuendo. Why do you need to use this tactic. If the facts do not exist do you think is right to just make them up as you see fit?

Chitown is like a neo-con with scruples . . . I like him and his posts (most of them) a lot. We grew up not too far from one another and he is right in that Chicago is and always has been a hotbed of political corruption and thuggery.

However, some facts regarding Obama would be appreciated.
