No I am not suggesting they lock up or keep folks locked up for what they might do or for what they have not done in the past. But I got no truck with keeping folks locked up for what they actually have done in the past.
I could give a toss what their skin color is or which of the fairy tails they choose to believe in as a religion.
And I am not aware of many non-military US nationals being held in local bins around the world for being thought of as any form of terrorist threats – thought there might be.
I have serious issues with how many of the folks that are/were in Gitmo were rounded up, and on what evidence they were rounded up on. But I do believe that there are some (don’t have a clue of the percentages) that should not be released, and I don’t think any of them should have any of the protections provided for in the US Constitution. Even US military personnel are not protected by the US Constitution for things they do while serving in the military – the UCMJ trump the US Constitution for anyone in the military.
I to do not know what the answer is. But saying “what do you expect?” certainly doesn’t lead any credence to letting any of them go.
There is plenty that is debatable in regard to how/why many of these folks were locked up in the first place. But now that they are locked up, the focus needs to be on trying to get all those that are not real threats released, and determining what should be done with those that are real threats.
