It's the number one cause of bankruptcy. Just show up at the ER and hand over your net worth. It's what the Founding Fathers would have wanted.
Thats so sad to think someone could work hard all their life to better themselves and contribute to the country, and then a whole lifes work is gone due to a medical emergency. Your house, your future retirement, your kids inheritance. Everything gone because you didnt have the very expensive private medical insurance.

Here is a link to where Ryan explains his budget:

    External Link

The deficit is reduced from $1.39 trillion to barely under $1 trillion. That sounds like a proposed deficit reduction of about $390 billion.
The spending is reduced from $3,618 billion to $3,529 billion.
Until it is law it is meaningless. It remains to be seen if the House GOP fights this battle intelligently. I'd hardly call his bill passing Congress by a wide margin him sulking like a whipped puppy...

Well, as the insurance company says, --- you should have read the fine print.

YouTube - Paul Ryan Slams Obama Deficit Plan

I'm never going to get to use Medicare & taxing the so-called 'rich' definitely ain't the answer. Wealth redistribution has never worked throughout history. To wit: Soviet Russia, China, Albania, Cuba...need I go on?

When it comes to US military excursions overseas verses providing shelter for American families and putting food on their table, it seems that the US government financial priority is the military.

Really Booners? We have been shifting wealth from the middle class to the upper class steadily since the Reagan years. Wealth has been concentrated into tiny percentage of the population. I'd say somebody's version of wealth redistribution is working exceedingly well.

Class warfare kicked into high gear with the election of Barack Hussien Obama. Bill O’Reilly went off on Barack Obama the other night on The Factor. He told told Brit Hume,
“The danger to the country lies in the executive branch and president Obama… I think absolutely the president wants to take from the rich and give to the poor.”

Here's a good one for your Friday morning reading pleasure. Seems not all Blacks are enamored with commie in the WH:

Rep. Allen West: “I’m Sick & Tired of The Marxist Demagogic Rhetoric Coming From the President”

Rep. Allen West (R-FL) stood by his comments from earlier in the week on the Laura Ingraham Show that Obama was acting like some sort of third-world dictator. West told Greta Van Susteren last night,
“I’m sick and tired of this Marxist demagogic rhetoric coming from the president of the United States of America.”

    Yes, we all are...

Perhaps a fascist state where democracy has become a mere ideal and control of the politicans by big business and their money has become the norm.
How else could a country like USA, which prides itself on free enterprise capitalism end up in such a quagmire of debt with its people so much worse off than in any other developed country?

Clearly, you Yanks (or rather your government) have been doing something wrong long before Obama came on the scene. Though I do have to admit that Obama has just turned out to be more of the same.

USA, UK and EU are all burdened by unsustainable debt. Something that can not continue forever. The only way out in the long term is either default, or partial default through devaluation. Austerity, inflation and unemployment will, and are, becoming the norm in the debtor nations as the working class are forced to pay for the misguided economic judgement of their governments and their banks.

But the big three who are in the most trouble comprise the bulk of the worlds consumer market since they have been living above their means on other countries credit for so long. Expect to see the reintroduction of trade tariffs to combat unemployment at these countries governments try to pacify a majority working class who see thier way of life in decline through unemployment and inflation. Take the consumer out of the market through tariffs and currency devaluation and you hurt the producer nations with more prudent economic strategies. The whole world economy slows down as falling consumption leads to falling production.

We are still only at the first stage of this global financial meltdown just yet.
So yea, we are all going down together. But the big debtor nations will feel the worst pain, (or at least the working class in those nations will) until the world redistribution of wealth is reorganized with the debtor nations taking a smaller share and the producer nations taking a larger share of the pie.

Five things are playing in Obama’s favor.

First, the Republicans -- driven by their most conservative members in Congress -- will face a primary with many candidates who will advance harsh ideological positions.

Second, the Republican governors’ attacks on unions are turning off the swing voters and Reagan Democrats

Third, no candidates are emerging to challenge Obama in the primaries.

Fourth, Obama has neutered much of the big corporate lobby’s zeal to defeat him.

Fifth, since the Republicans have little to offer by way of creating jobs, Obama need only show improvement in macroeconomic indicators, as Ronald Reagan did in 1983-1984,

At this stage, the 2012 elections are looking safe as houses for Obama. Still, I suppose 18 months is a long time in politics. Who knows what might happen- perhaps Canada will invade.
