just who is going to pay the estimated $2,300 that the rescue plan calls for? that is $2,300 for every man, woman, and child in america.

the orphan left on the church steps is part of that equation as is the nun who picks up the basket.

the homeless vet sleeping on the subway grating, the retired couple without any savings, and the home owners who couldn't make their mortgage payments. all are now burdened with an additional $2,300 debt. and this is the best rescue plan gwb could come up with.

oh well, as long as it doesn't happen on gwb's watch. it is interesting to note that the crisis, while looming for years, wasn't a crisis until he is pretty much gone, leaving the mess for others to clean up. worst president ever doesn't convey the sense of it.

the current worry is now about a recession. given the huge inflationary toll of this kind of debt, i think it would be fun to sit back and watch the implosion.

if a recession is coming, and it is, then the fed will have to cut the discount rate causing a further push on inflation. and a cut just may not be enough to pull the entire world out of peril.

oh well, what do i know? in another thread i mentioned i owned enron, tyco, and mci-world com, so maybe it would be best to follow your leaders and ignore what you observe in front of your face.

Yes. From our vantage point it is far from the end of the world as we know it. It is entertaining watching the wall street traders and congress running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
