There's undoubtably "American bashing" on this forum but by the same token there's "flag-waving", an over sensitiveness and defensiveness to legitimate criticism of US govt. policies, and those that shout-down, as well.

As I give this more thought, it's interesting that most of the US bashers do not come from countries that have been negatively affected from or could have a legitimate beef with American policies. That would be understandable. Rather, they seem to come from a few W. European countries with a smattering of down under, down under.

Some of the sternest criticism of US government policy comes from US citizens, on this board and elsewhere- and I notice you 'Flag wavers' are particularly sensitive about that. Maybe you should stop, think and realise that this is a large of what made your country great in the first place.

Nothing Tex, absolutely nothing. All that I do and say is motivated by an inherent desire to be American and the resulting jealousy that I'm not. Go back to shouting down any criticism of the US.

The 'problem', as I've stated several times, is that I don't think this thread serves any real or legitimate purpose. It's not sincere and strikes me as a pointless bit of internet dick-waving.

Why should I feel compelled to laud the achievments of my nation or list attributes of my countrymen just because some are apparently to precious to handle a bit of criticism.
