These campaigns are still to early to call. If I had to call it today it would be McCain vs. Obama.
No way to really call it yet. I am surprised Rudi has imploded so early though.
Rather like the funny underwear bit. Sounds kinky. Giving the Mormon church 10% would be a big let down for the Mormons. I'm sure their tax free status on earnings gives them more like 35%.Originally Posted by chinthee

Spot on, CT.
Too early too call.
I've gotten some candidates wrong on both parties.
I think Romney is younger at 60, than McCain, who has had his chance.
Romney seems sharper in economics, also. Immigration, too.
But McCain has name recognition, and he may fair very well on Feb. 5th.
The FL primary results will be known to us when we wake up tomorrow morning. Polling seems tight (if we can trust the polls).

I wouldn't be surprised if he is taken out by one of those compassionate Christian fundies, hopefully in a suicide bombing, to show the world that terrorism is universal and not limited to Muslim fundiesOriginally Posted by chinthee
I heard McCain talking at a rally and he said "my friends, my friends, we have had wars, we are in a war, and there will be more wars, there will be more wars..."
Really hope this guy doesn't win Florida; if he does he'll have proved himself a viable Presidential candidate and that's scary...

^ Mormonism is a CULT.
Freaks.
But if he keeps his kooky peudo-religion to himself, and can run a economy, fine.
We don't have many choices. Heck, look who we've had the last 8 years.
Fookin' shame.
My man, Duncan Hunter is/was the only candidate with a clue...

No, I seriously know these people well. Lived among them for many years. They're kind of like that alien movie where they lived among humans disguised as humans, but eventually taking over everyone's body one by one.
Drastic, but seriously, Romney would stack the White House and Administration with Mormons to advance their agenda. They're the most clannish people I've ever seen.
McCain wins in Fla., Giuliani to quit

MIAMI - Sen. John McCain won a breakthrough triumph in the Florida primary Tuesday night, gaining the upper hand in the battle for the Republican presidential nomination ahead of next week's contests across 21 states and lining up a quick endorsement from soon-to-be dropout Rudy Giuliani.

Knowing the sentiment of some of the right wing elite, I fear they would never ever allow a black to be their leader -- the lower-class blacks especially will have a field day with Obama as prez. The reverse racism and taunts would not be swallowed by the white elite -- I don't think they're ready and they can get anything done. (Kinda like a Dutch Indonesian or a French black being elected PM. Not anytime soon.) Hence, the secret service security on Obama now. I hate to say it -- I just have a bad feeling. A pity as the man is honest and his plans seem to be coming together (not that I like them). Forogt to add, the big biz's will be going thru his economic and tax packages -- I would say they would kill to keep what they have.
OK, mormon underwear:

^Yes, I have seen them up close. A good friend wore them until he got ex-communicated. They have little white pasties over the nipples that signify something religious.
Can somebody that actually understands the primary elections explain why the Florida democratic vote didn't count for anything.
^only for the democrats.
linkIn August 2007, the Democratic National Committee voted to strip the Florida Democratic Party of its 210 national convention delegates because the Florida Democratic Delegate Selection Plan violates party rules. These rules state that only Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, and South Carolina can start their delegate selection process before 5 February 2008 but Florida has scheduled their primary for 29 January 2008. The DNC gave the Florida Democrats until 29 September 2007 to come up with an alternate delegate-selection plan that complies with party rules.
even after reading through this I don't really understand either.
The Dem party has penalised Florida for holding its vote before Feb 5, and has banned any delegates from the state to go to the Dem convention, where the party leader will be elected. So, no delegates, no vote to choose the dem leader.
thanks both.
that sounds like a total cluster fuck to me.
who is responsible?
btw.
an endorsement.
is that simply someone saying that they support a particular candidate?
is it important because so many Americans can't make up their own minds?
^Herd mentality. An endorsement means he carries all his supporters over to the one he endorses. Powerful stuff. Wins elections.
